Who? That pond hockey team of push overs from DC?? :snicker:I wouldn’t bet on Orpik comin back anytime soon. He has been known to take “vacations” and miss large portions of seasons throughout his career, from injuries others have not been out that long for.
Good to read that Niskanen took the ice this morning! Kinda thought Orpik was ready, but I guess they're giving him another couple days.
nice to see Lewington get some more ice time. It would also be nice to see the league crack down on head hits on teams that don't start with CapitalsYa other fanbases are complaining but I dont think any team has suffered as many head injuries on illegal hits as the Caps. And no disciplinary action was taken.

I'm curious what caused the delay to puck drop. Caps Pregame Live has gone 10 minutes (maybe more) longer than usual.
Don't know if you edit the calendar or not, but for some reason tonight is listed as 7:15? Never seen an :15 time before..
great pass from KuzyNo kidding. Pretty easy goal for Wilson. I hope someone picked that puck up. I think Lewington got his first NHL point on that goal.
NHL site and Comcast guide said 7:00pm. I triple check these.
I think Alta is updating the Calendar.
Hi Lil.
Third person references.... ....... how's your foot? Poison still there? .......... Can you stand/walk? ,,,, think?
I think Alta updated the calendar a few days ago when he saw it was a 7:15 start

Ask Alta where he saw the time change please. I checked it today again on the NHL.com Capitals schedule and it was still 7:00pm
:P

Have him tell AJ please.

With Bowey, Siegenthaler and now Lewington playing well and Orpik returning soon it could drop Djoos on the depth chart when he returns. I think all of those dmen mentioned are better.
Now if Siegenthaler could score, we'd have what I bet would be an exceedingly unusual hat trick. I'll bet there's NEVER been an occurrence of 3 defensemen getting their first goals in the same game. Maybe 3 roster players, but not 3 defensemen.
I think it's very brave and commendable for him to express his more sensitive side Jus' sayin'.........
[shudders at a white boy trying to rap milkshake]I'll have you (and DC) know, I was in perfect pitch too! :raspberry:

8-0 What makes you think - why do you think Djoos injury is that aerious???
It's nothing to be concerned about because I suspect Djoos' injury is sufficiently serious that he won't be back this season. Or if he does return, it would be so close to the playoffs that, if others are still playing well, they wouldn't shove him back in the lineup relatively unprepared for (hopefully) the playoffs.
 Where's my "Chest poked out" emoji when I need it?!?! :snicker:

I’ve cheerin for this kid since we drafted him, and been saying he’s underrated for years!!He is playing way better than I thought he would.
Great job tonight Lewington, Gordie would be proud!!
AJ, we .... bym that I mean YOU....need to get that cheerleader emojie on here, cos th's what Lewingron deserves rightnow. :P
A tad pre luv'. Playing in the NHL isnt just about skill, it's about consistancy also. He has made a pretty good erly showing, for sure, but it's early days yet, for him. If he can get a scrap under his belt this game, I'd shorten the odds on him for sure....... :PThe post was more about Djoos dropping on the depth chart. He wasnt playing very well this season before his injury. Bowey has clearly passed him and possible Siegenthaler. Its very early for Lewington but he has played well in his 2 games. We also have Orpik coming back soon. And we have 3 more prospects that could possibly pass Djoos on the depth chart.
Do you mean this one?

I hope you had a peacefull and .... easy... Christmass. As you know, my cousin died earlier in the year and this was my Aunt's first Christmass without her. Christmass Eve was .... delicate. Delicate, yet celebratory.

That's kinda why I liked it and made a GOAL animation from it. I was planning on doing more work to it sometime.FilL YOUR BOOTs :P

the fire departments always have the "fill the boot" weekend to raise money for MS, we also don't say we are gonna go smoke a fag :snicker:
"Smoke a fag" sounds like a sex act to me.
Glad they got outta there with the W.. Playing a 45 minute game usually don't end well..I'd say we played a 30 minute game. Maybe less. Ottawa was the better team the last 2 periods.
WTF?
did you ever go to Australia and choke a darkie ?
https://youtu.be/8aDe2uHDwlg (https://youtu.be/8aDe2uHDwlg)Good for Lewington. I like his style. I never really thought he had enough talent to bec a regular NHL dman. Maybe I'm wrong. Problem is that we will be getting some guys back and he will get buried again.

I remember that "boot" also meant "trunk" as in of a car. And the hood is called a bonnet. So fill the boot could mean fill the trunk.No.
No.

you ok?

Problem is that we will be getting some guys back and he will get buried again.yep, and it’s damn shame. He could probably play perfect games ang get GHTs every game and they’d still send him domi because he ain’t enough of a pussy.
Then this looks very bad for The Caps. Primary causes are repetitive inpact and over training, which makes sense if your training is focused on skating.
I think you’re right Black!
I just read where Djoos had something called “Compartment Syndrome”! I’d never heard of it!
Apparently it’s quite serious, although rare, and can require emergency surgery, once positively diagnosed!
Briefly, our individual muscles are all held within very thin little membranes, called fasciae. Like a baggy around a large muscle. These are referred to as “compartments”.
In larger muscles, (Djoos thigh muscle), if it gets bruised internally, it can swell to the point of restricting the arterial blood flow, killing the muscle fibers, AND nerve cells to the muscle, causing permanent irreversible damage, including partial paralysis!
I saw a photo of the completed emergency procedure on an upper thigh muscle. They split the whole damn muscle up the middle of its entire length along the leg! Had no idea it was such a big deal! But we won’t be seeing Djoos anytime soon!
Rush

We’ve all seen Djoos play, and it’s safe to say he didn’t overtrain in upper body workouts. As his strength has been a concern, and given the woman’s-hockey The Caps prefer, whether he was strong enough to endure the volume of skating/leg focused workouts given to him should be asked.
Even if he comes back, there’s a chancd won’t be physically close to being effective as he was. But that’s an “if”, as theres a good chance his career his done.

But yeah man, he’s been Hersey’s shutdown Dman and still managed to get a few points despite the train week GMBetaMale has allowed Hershey to become.
I’ve been a fan since I found out he DEYSTROED the combine he was in, top 3 in damn near everything in every physical test! Hell he probably is top 3 or top in everything in the weight room for Tge Caps, provides they let him lift🤣
I know all that already.
They won't send Lewington down because or in spite of his performance. They'll send him down because they can do so without waiver ramifications. You know that. Every team in the league manages its roster that way. Bowey, for example, is on a one-way contract now, so he can't be sent down without passing through waivers, and it is a lead-pipe cinch he would be claimed. So when Niskanen, the 3rd RH shooting defenseman is back, down goes Lewington -- guaranteed. Don't hide this obvious fact to advance your conspiracy theories about the Caps actively avoiding grittier players.

We all know about the waiver ramifications. Answer this question. Let's say none of our dmen are waiver exempt. So when Niskanen and Orpik return. Who gets sent down? My guess is that it would be Lewington anyway.

There are a couple of other options in that scenario.
So your argument isnt 100 % accurate. I think what DC is really saying is that Lewington isnt in their long term plans. And I would agree with that. He only got called up because of injuries to 3 of our dmen and he was next in line. Once he is sent down he may not ever get another chance here because we do have other defense prospects that are more likely candidates to be in the Caps long-term plans.
One thing on his side is that they dont have as much depth on the right side. Hobbs is about the only other guy. But they also might play a left handed dman on his wrong side. Which is what the Caps did before the injuries. They had Djoos playing the right hand side in the 3rd pair.
I wouldn’t say “long term plan”, it’s marketing and ideology.OK how is about long term marketing plan.
The Caps inflexiblity of this ideology in their roster is only exasperating weakness and not addressing them. Sending a kid that has already put performed the other D, who also has a good contract, down just proves that.
On the bright side. as soft, powderpuff, and injury probe as this Dcorps is, they’ll be plenty more of them on the IR soon
I just want to point out that there are other options than sending Lewington back down. One is sending Siegenthaler back down. I'm pretty sure he is waiver exempt. Another could be to send a veteran like Orpik down. A 3rd option but less likely would be to send a forward down and go with 8 dmen.Exactly, but it probably is just as much GMBetaMale.
There is no reason we can't keep Lewington as a 7th dman. There is no law that our 7th dman has be left handed.
With Orpik returning it is looking like we are going with 2 left dmen on the 3rd pair today.
So much for Reirden rewarding players for their performance.
