Now that's an oxymoron I won't soon forget! :raspberry:
-
Oh, Happy New Year, by the way. Year of the Dragon. I bet Chinatown was buzzing yesterday. :peacock:
-
Hey Alta, how many games did K play to get his ring?
official nhl stats say he played 57 games that season, and his record was 37-12-4. Which doesn’t add up to 82 games. So, he must’ve been pulled for a couple.
Official nhl records don’t count the playoffs. That season the Avs played 20 playoff games. Kuemper played in 14, including all of the Cup winning 6 game series against Tampa.

OT …

:phew:
-
Tied after regulation. Better than I imagined.
-
based on how the rule has been applied this season, that should have been goalie interference
-
fukin turnover.. with 5 seconds left
:clown: :poop:

:O=
-
Meh, we got a point.
4 seconds left. 4. 4 seconds.
At least it wasn't 3am........ :raspberry:
-
You guys have got your big girlie rugby game tonight. They're showing it over here. :uh-huh: I might give it a look........

Send McMike back to Hershey for a stint. lol Least BM didn't sign him to a stupid contract extension like he did Protas. I wouldn't offer him anymore than 2m a year and that's being generous. You can't just disappear and regress at that age. He's fell off the wagon for the last 2 months.

Yeah. Cant say I've been overly impressed with him either.
-
And no Ovi in OT. Hope that was just a good move by Carbs and he didn't get dinged or something.
-
Toodle pip peeps. :hearts:
-
Caps did play better than expected.
-
wow. two really good showings by the caps. Wwell..boston pretty much didnt show up....
I'm amazed the caps hung in for OT vs Vancouver. Total dumb mistake with 4 seconds....just hoping McMike wasnt aware there were just 4 seconds but you should be.
Caps should start dumping guys now. Why wait for the deadline.
oh, and has Protas had a single point since the ridiculous contract?
-
Can't figure out McMike. He looked great early in the year and seemed to be a really good prospect on the rise. The last 20 games he has been non-existent.
Good to see Ovi scoring, but its mostly been some puck bounces and an empty netter. If you watch him skate around, he is still not moving well. I'm hoping that he is hindered with some kind of injury and that he can recover. That could explain why Carbs left him off in OT. If that isn't the case and Carbs just benched him for OT, that would be pretty shocking and bold for a rookie coach. Honestly, watching Ovi skate about half speed for most of his shifts, if he isn't hurt, he is a player that every coach would bench if he weren't Ovi.
-
Ovi is a liability in OT 3v3. I agree though...unless he was dinged, that's bold move/statement by Carbs
Now that he has the all time NHL lead in ENGs....we can leave him off the ice when opponent pulls goalie as well.
He's always been at best suspect on D and backchecking...but he scored so much it made up for it. Now....not so much
I'm fine whit him on the PP (but not the entire PP), but no reason for him to be out there if you trying to close out a game.
-
3v3 is way too fast for Ovi. Though I have noticed him skating better since the ASG break. (Like, "who's that guy, oh it's Ovi" kind of better) But he's still a huge liability in OT if the play goes the other way. Either way, next time we're in OT he'll be out there, cause Carbery was getting grilled about it yesterday. lol (He said he just didn't realize he hadn't gotten ice until time was up) :smirk:

Same thing with having Carlson out there constantly in OT. They seem to look for their slowest guys and then make sure they're out there when you need speed more than anything. I'd rarely or never have Ovie out in OT anymore. He sucks in the shootout, too.

His plus/minus rating will far exceed his goal total, in the wrong direction.

Four seconds or not, the pass was horrendous. You don't blindly throw the puck into your own slot. Just a real dumb play. Yes, way, way, way past time for total rebuild mode. Nobody, and I mean nobody, on this team should be untouchable.

And the funny thing is they've paid Jensen and TVR like they have offensive upside or something. I guess he's the only D on the team who can pass or put a shot on goal? Whatever they thought Sandin or Bear had, apparently they don't. lol
