found a place that lists the expected PP units, honestly, since OV is always double shifted

Time for Sammy to take the reins and not look back!!

Man they miss big willy on that PP1 (well everywhere really) but Vrana on the PP is a waste of time IMO. He's a sniper with serious wheels, but he's not good at patiently moving around and making openings for himself on the PP. Heaven forbid the puck go to the corner and he had to go in and muck it out. I'd rather they gave a shot to someone else. Hell put Hathy in there. He's big and can move pretty well and sure as shit can muck it up in the corners. I realize you want skill guys on the PP, but you have to be able to get in and win the puck and set up to use those skills.
The Spronger on PP2 is interesting. He does have a wicked shot release. Glad to see him (or anyone) rewarded for good play.
-
He's a sniper with serious wheels, but..
That's really all he is. A sniper with wheels. Then he pouts when he doesn't get ice. At least it's good he (at the moment) seems to shine once he gets another chance, but he needs to find that energy for every shift. Keep waiting for the PP demotion to spark Kuzy but so far he hasn't responded much.

Well that sucks. Hope it's not super serious.
Ziggy? He gonna play wing? OR they finally moving J.Q. Dylan Norris up to play wing
I guess they'll move Oshie over to Center, and maybe the Spronger jumps to R1?

I doubt putting Carlson on the wing would work.
-
So do they just NOT show replays for penalties now?
-
shit
-
So do they just NOT show replays for penalties now?
Ya no kidding I missed it. I was busy getting another beer when the infraction occurred.
-
I doubt putting Carlon on the wing would work.
I was being facetious 8)
I tend to pick on Johnny Q whenever possible.....really used to piss off one of our Canadian fans. You could not even hint that Johnny made a bad play without him jumping all over you.
-
Sheary Boom
-
That was purdy. :uh-huh:
-
That was purdy. :uh-huh:
Twas. Looked like he shot it too high for 5 hole, but it trickled in.
-
Dowd can't even hit an open net
-
Sprong needs to play every night!

I know you are picking on him. He isn't always great in the defensive zone but we are lucky to have him. We could do alot worse.
-

Agreed. I used to really be down on him, but he has greatly improved his play over the last 5 years or so
-
Go Hathy
-
why does it look like we killing a penalty?
-
A decent first, I thought.
-
Looked fine until the fight.. We better figure out how to spark or at least sustain after a fight or teams are gonna start looking to start shit.
-
Seigs had zero ice time in the 1st
-
Seigs had zero ice time in the 1st
I don't get it. If you are going to dress 7 dmen give him some ice time.
Was there a reason we didn't start another forward to replace Eller?
-
Seigs had zero ice time in the 1st
Sitting the whole period sucks ass (not that I ever sat one) but still.
Why dress him then and not a forward?
-
Kuzy was holding that dude's stick...thought he was trying to land his tuna ;)

Mr Norris!!!
gets his 500th point

500 For Dylan.

Told you he could play wing :snicker:
-
Good for Carlson.
-
Told you he could play wing :snicker:
Lol ok.
-
Did you ever play one?
Hah. Yes. played about 11 years as a young adult. I played D. My claim to fame was I led the LEAGUE in PM in my very 1st season - purely a fluke, but got me the goon title for the rest of my playing days (all with the same team)
I did manage to crack the ribs of one of my teammates. Again....Totally a fluke, and added to my mystique. Wasn't even a checking league.
That was 30 years and about 60 lbs ago
-
Good to see Ovie seems to have a little more going tonight. He needs to share some of that with Kuzy.
-
Wtf was Vrana thinking. Wide open net and he decides to pass it.
-
Dowd !!!!
:)
-
and now the dreaded 3 goal lead with 20:00 to go
-
and Siegs still hasn't played a shift
-
Oh good. 3 goal 3rd period lead! What could go wrong?
-

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but I'll take it - could be other way round.
-
Peace out peeps. I'm leaving work and catching the rest on DVR
-
looks like Chara is starting to learn just how biased the NHL officiating is
-
there's the first one
:O= :O=
-
Uh oh.....
-
they look good
-
dafuk..
:O= :O= :O=
-
The zip's getting lower......
-
Replay of the fucking Jersey game.
-
And Samsonov needs work on his angles. Sheesh.
-
WTF is it with 3 goal leads.
-
The zip's getting lower......
:uh-huh:
-
And Samsonov needs work on his angles. Sheesh.
The shot went in off the post. I wouldn't consider that a problem with angles. No matter how well you play the angle there is still going to be room on both corners.
-
I don't think Jensen could have played that worse.
-

Watch him for a while. As the puck goes to one side or the other he is too far past his post
-
These motherfuckers man..
-

I know he loses his net at times. I've been more critical of him then anyone about it. I didn't think it was a factor on that goal.
-

Agreed he needs back to back starts. That, and maybe some help on D in the third from time to time....................... :lmao:
-

Fair enough, Chaos. I’m watching on my iPad do I’ll defer to you. We agree on the general point. He gets caught up in the flow of the game. Could be from lack of game play this season. I don’t recall it as a big issue last year.
-
bullseye from Dowd! Assist Sammy!
-
Keep yer clothes on Lil, they figured out how not to choke (to death) for a change! :smirk:
-
Zip's gone back up, but I was ready.... :snicker:
Still a rubbish 3rd again.
-
Wow! Some shot from Dowd.
-
Siegs got half a shift at the end, for a grand total of 0:28 TOI tonight
-
Glad we got the win but we have to defend leads better in the 3rd period.
And I'm not impressed with Seigenthaler sitting on the bench all game and then getting shift on the last few seconds of the game.
Nothing like showing that you don't trust your players. That will help his confidence. Its not like he made any bad plays and got in the doghouse. He didnt even get an opportunity. Lavoilette get your head out of your ass.

Looks like you paid close attention to that. Not sure what your thoughts are but I feel that you think he should have gotten more time.
-
Night night and sweet dreams all.
:hearts:
-
Moar Sammy!!!
-

I wasn’t paying attention to it until the end of 1 when the radio guys made note of it. speculation during the broadcast was the coach didn’t want to mess with the D chemistry. I don’t necessarily disagree. The team needs to have a forward on the scratch list instead of 2 D.

I thought that sitting Seigenthaler for 59 mins and 34 secs then putting him on the ice for the last 26 seconds was like a slap in the face. I was ok with 7 dressing 7 D men. But get him some ice time. Seigs has been fine when he has played. I don't think he would hurt the team protecting a lead. He is better defensively than half of our dcore.

I agree...from early on this season I wanted Ziggy over Jensen. Jensen has certainly improved his game and I hear he and Chara have meshed well, but... I think Ziggy is definitely the better Dman especially in the D zone.
Give the guy (Ziggy) enough ice time and I'd bet he gels too. He was our best PK D man last year.
And Mostly....it was 4-1 to start the third. When would be a better time to GET him some ice time? Dressing him to sit the bench the entire game is a waste for everyone....and as a player that has to suck total balls. If he is not in the doghouse, then get him on the ice or don't dress him to begin with.
I think part of Ziggy's problem is Dillon sort of fills the same role as Ziggy, but has much more experience (albeit not the same mobility)
Chara being added cost Ziggy a spot he had earned IMO last year. I would hope/think maybe they plan to move a guy (ahem Orlov) for cap space at the deadline to pick up a piece we NEED IF it looks like we could make a run, but they seem to like Orlov. At beginning of season knowing the Kempny situation and SHulz health somewhat a question mark, and Jensen being....Jensen, and Orlov.... it's always nice to have depth on D, but then I think the Chara thing just fell in their laps and then all the beginning question marks are working out better than expected so Ziggy is odd man out.
Good problem to have, but shit...if you dress him then at least let him play.
-
Totally agree. I'm a big Ziggy fan and think he earned his spot. That being said, I have to say that Orlov and Jensen have been playing really well in the new system that is much more aggressive with the D-Man. You can see their confidence growing every game.
