I think this excuse about the Caps being the oldest team in the league is horsecrap. That's counting Chara at 43, Lundqvist will be 39 next week and Anderson is 39. Thats two guys that aren't playing, and one that still contributes quite a bit with almost 20 minutes a game. The next oldest guy is OV at 35.

You should by now that the league doesn't follow those guidelines and haven't for a long time. I mean guys like Leech and Coffey were winning the award. Neither of them played defense. Or should have guys like Karlsson, Subban or Burns won the award. Did Josi deserve the Norris let season? I say no to all of those guys. Oh and I say no to Carlson too.
It should be more of an all round guy. In my opinion Hedman is the best dman in the league and isn't really even close.

He played forward earlier in his career. He still might play the odd shift at forward.
But it's not the same. Alot of people think that an offensive defenseman can easily make the transition to forward.

We were a tad lucky this game. It was not a good 3rd period.
It's a win, though.
We gave up only 4 shots in the 3rd period. That's a pretty good period.
