Holts hasn't been very sharp his last couple of games. I think we have decent enough goalies where we can play whoever is playing well and give the other a rest for a bit.

Djoos went out with an "upper body" injury, whatever that means. They never showed what happened, or if they did I didn't see it. We'll be battling for a playoff spot by the end of the year if we keep dropping like flies and playing like shit.  :raised-eyebrow:

past two games the Caps have played like crap, they've been slow, the passing sucks, coverage in the D zone sucks, positioning in the O zone sucks. Since the flu is in the locker room, we can only hope that's the problem and it goes away quickly.

And maybe/hopefully that's why Wilson was out of the lineup tonight?  Rierden implied that more guys on the roster may be having illness issues - they may have been playing short-legged, if not short-handed, tonight.


I say hopefully because illness passes.  My wife came down with something two days ago, and she's coming out of it now.

I wonder if Tom is suffering residual effects from that wicked knee he took in the quadriceps last night.  I was surprised he came back out last night after I saw that.

We actually had several intermittent episodes of crisp passing, mixed into the overall sloppiness!
 However, Carolina took advantage of opportunities, at crucial times, that we served to them on a plate, when we would slack off, just a notch, following a made goal.


 Seems like just as soon as we got a little momentum going, Carolina had an answer back!
 Carolina capitalized, especially well on two major bonehead plays, on our part, by scoring a goal!


 Holtby wasn’t much help tonight, either. He’s been quite off, The last couple games.
 And we better hurry up and get to the bottom of this Keystone cop shit, when trying to get the fuck out of our zone. It was abysmal tonight!


 The PP had one or two little bright spots, but still looks very ineffective!


Jensen, Carly, and Orlov, Were the even more guilty D men, in an overall substandard defensive performance by all defenseman tonight.


Although Kuzy had a nice looking goal, both him and Vrana were quite irresponsible on defense this evening.  Jake has been taking some good solid shots, but he has been very weak on defense recently at the other end!


 I hope we shake off this crap soon!

I am watching the game and the only thing I saw happen to Djoos was a pretty good check into the boards by Staal at at 14:45 in the 1st period. I watched closely for him after seeing your message.  He played right up to the end of the 1st period and looked normal, but never came back onto the ice in the 2nd period . They announced half way through the 2nd that he was not returning.

Why the hell they brought him back up is a mystery.  He’s to weak and makes to many mistakes to be in the NHL
