What with the silly scheduling this year and all, I got around to a bit of browsing. I took in the Blues/Knights game last night. What a great game! Not much scrapping, but a really good hockey game. Fun to watch. A pretty good advert for hockey.
Finals of the U's tonight. Canada vs Sweden. Good game so far.

Lady & I are watchin the Wings/Hawks game.
I’ll say it again, Mike Green is playing the best hockey of his career this year. He’s been shutting Kane down and came up with a nice, easy goal.
Great for him, . . . but probably not for us.
His contracts up this year, and the Wings are in rebuild mode, so he’ll more than likely be moved by the Trade Deadline.
It is unlikely for Holland to trade in the division unless the deal is two good to pass up. . . But, within Headman our, Holland and The Captain could come up with a mutual “A Plan” discount.
Right now, if he plays like he has been (and not like he did here) The Caps could definitely use him. But, I think of an A Plan trade that would benefit both teams 😆

Green has improved his overall game but I wouldn't want him back unless we got a discount. When Green was here I'm sure he didnt play within the system. He was all over the ice. In fact the commentators used to call him a rover. He was very good on the pp though.

WE complained about him plenty when he was here. I think about 2 weeks or so before we saw him for the bust that he was.

Watching the Islanders @ Canadiens game tonight was a dramatic illustration of the inconsistencies and insanities of the NHL's Refereeing and replay challenges.
In the second frame the Canadiens were down 4-2 and scored a PP goal just as the PP was ending. The Islanders challenged for offsides on the goal. The entry was 53 seconds prior to the goal and the Hab that entered the zone with the puck was deemed to have been offsides. It was so close and it came down whether his skate was one inch off the ice as he received the puck and entered the zone. The challenge overturned the goal. Since it happened so long before the goal the Habs got the clock reset and had another 55 seconds of PP.
This was bad. We've discussed the insanity of challenging offsides after a team has been in the zone for so long.
Then within a minute a penalty was called for interference against Montreal as they were on a breakaway chance. Within moments the replay showed that the Islander player lost an edge and fell into the Montreal player. So Montreal goes from a scoring chance to a PK on a bad call and even though the Refs could clearly see the replay withing seconds they did not/could not change the call.
They spent 3-4 minutes making sure they got the ridiculous offsides call right, which shouldn't matter anyway, but there was no way to act on what should have been an instant reversal of the totally wrong interference penalty.

I believe this cost Montreal the game. They lost in OT.

Occasionally he comes out with stuff that makes sense, but it's usually wrapped around loads of egotistical, self-important, arrogant diatribe. He may have been relevant once upon a time, but now he's just an embarrassment and a clown. :clown:
Luckily I don't have to see him very often any more, but every time I do he still comes out with, " When I was with the Bruins"............

Nice jersey but I'm not a fan of Vegas. I admit I'm a bit pissed about Vegas being able to load up their team with a lot if talent as an expansion team. They did a good job I guess but the rules made it easy for them. They may not have a ton of superstars but there was so much talent available it gave them a ton if depth. They might have the most depth in the league.

To be honest I only have 6 jerseys. 5 Caps jerseys and a San Fransisco Spiders jersey. I would like to add some others. I'd like to add, Dallas, Nashville and Anaheim for sure. Maybe The Flyers, Jets or Avalanche.
I would really like to add some jersey from teams that no longer exist. Hartford Whalers would be first on my list. I'd like a Cleveland Barons, Kansas City Scouts and Colorado Rockies jerseys as well. Those will be harder to find. I guess I should include the California Golden Seals to my list. The jerseys were ugly but my cousin played for them.
I wonder if the old WHA jerseys are available. I really liked the Cincinnati Stingers jerseys.

But you’re damn right, I don’t see how anyone could not like John. Just an all out hell of a cool man. He still rides his bike along the side or the track while the rest rode back in their vans etc. The NHRA events probably run so long do to him signing autographs and hoodies n around with fans.
For Ford to pullout of NHRA while dominating it, and having the most fan friendly and accessible family in sports under contract because they wanna push minivans and crossovers is simply pathetic
