I didn't even realize there was a game tonight.
Might have to stay at work and watch. THe Caps seem to fail miserably when I only listen on the radio (or maybe that's only when they play the Hens)
Rags are technically still in it. If they win all four of their games (and at least one of them in regulation) AND Boston loses all 6 of their remaining....the Rags would win by a RW tiebreaker to get in.
I'll drink to the Caps putting final nail in that Rags playoff coffin tonight!

it’s pretty sad when I need to double check the information on the Caps site. One thing I’ve learned while doing the GDTs is this is about the worst city in regards to sports coverage, outside of the Redskins.

Just teasing you. We know all these things (well I do). I have been to Canada a few times - mostly not big cities. Spent couple weeks in Nova Scotia. One of the prettiest places I have ever seen. Haven't been out west but would like very much to see Vancouver. Although I am not a city loving person at all.
We're not all ignorant rednecks down here either (despite the number of guns we own)

And yes we do acknowledge Quebec as part of Canada but it is different there. I was only in Quebec once when I was a kid. I'd like to go again.
And yes Canadians do have a great sense of humor and so does the UK. It's just different than yours.
If you want to see humor you should try watching some tv shows from the UK. A show called Mrs Browns Boys is a good example.
I ddint think Americans had any sense of humor at all but few guys here are pretty funny. Mixstick, BarfingMonkey and Rich can be pretty funny.

I have never even been to Nova Scotia but I know it's very nice. British Columbia is also very beautiful.
A piece of advice don't visit central Canada unless you want to see absolutely nothing. And I'm serious. When you leave the city you can see for miles. No hills no trees. Nothing.

The Pens have always downplayed the "rivalry" with the Caps, but they always seem geared up when we play, and many times they have a letdown for a game or two afterward. If they have a little continuation, the Caps can sneak back and capture the Division -- for what that's worth.
Question is, though, do you want the Caps to start with the Isles or Bruins in the playoffs?

My feeling is that this team is a total wild card when the playoffs start because of the goalie situation. We have absolutely NO idea what we are going to get.
I give this team full credit for the game tonight. It may not have been a clinic, but a letdown is easy after the last two (just ask the Pens!!) and we basically played the game with 9 1/2 forwards.

I'll be honest. I'm very cocky and arrogant but I am a nice guy and I'm very generous. I look out for my friends coworkers and neighbors. I especially look out for my wife and if you mess with her I lose my shit. I admit I have a pretty bad temper but I keep it in check for the most part.

Honestly about pronouncing the aboot instead of about, I have never actually heard anyone pronounce that way until I saw a youtube video of a guy from Ontario and he did pronounce it aboot. It sounded ridiculous. No wonder everyone makes fun of us.

There has been alot of talk about Wilson. Most teams fan base wants Wilson suspended or banned. I don't see what the big deal is.
He punched a guy for taking a shot at the goalie and then got jumped on by 2 guys. Wilson may have gotten carried away but he was already penalized for it. He got 4 minutes for roughing and a 10 minute misconduct.

Wilson got fined for the incident with Panarin. I disagree with the fine but atleast he didn't get suspended.
What has this league come to? 2 players jump Wilson from behind, they have to know Wilson is going to defend himself. Panarin is a fool for getting involved. He got what he deserved.

I'm sure they DID know that Wilson would respond. With Wilson now one of the most valuable forwards in the league, other teams are going to try to keep the heat on him in order to get him off the ice. They want to coerce him into penalties, knowing that the refs are keeping a careful watch on him and are likely go give him lots of penalty time.

my observation that everyone in the media is ignoring ...
When a player gets an extra shove for trying to play the puck after it looks like the goalie has control, it normally results in a group hug with maybe a face wash or two. That's NOT what the Rags did to Wilson, and it didn't look like it was just the Rags trying to get him off the ice. I've got zero problems with the way Willy responded, and maybe, technically, he deserved the fine. But the Rags should have been held accountable for their actions as well and they weren't.

So the NHL radio channel has been pretty much non-stop bashing of Wilson. Almost nobody is mentioning that the whole thing was started by Buchnavitz who jabbed our goalie after the puck was covered! At least one of the hosts defended Willie on the Panarin part - saying what do you expect when a guy jumps on his back?
Then the Rangers issue a public statement yesterday wanting the head of discipline fired and there is some speculation that they are calling up some guy from the minors that is a fighter. Should be an entertaining game tonight!

Been listening and hearing the same anti-Wilson rants on NHL on Sirius. It's almost delusional, especially Jim "Boomer" Gordon - who I generally like.
