Caps win 5-2
-
These teams are about even in standings. It would be "Real Nice" (Clark) to see the Caps man up and take couple wins from them.
-
I do like our 1st period scoring summary.. :raspberry:

When is the last time OV started a game on line 2??

Shame, Blues score
-
Killed off the double minor then gave up the double deflection. :-(
-
:O=
-
1 to 1 after one
-
Anyone ever really paid attention to a Kuznetsov faceoff? So low key, low energy. Then watch Dowd. I never really pay attention to the technique, just who wins it. If tonight is how Kuzy always handles them, it's no wonder he rarely wins one.
-

-
Aubé-Kubel gets credit for that goal, because he was the last Cap to touch it
-
GOOOAAALLLL
OSHIE

Osh again!!
Patches is a difference maker. Whoever he's out with, they look good.

Was thinking the exact same thing. This PP looks much more lethal with 67 opposite Ovechkin.
-
Jeebus another fn penalty..
-
that pp sucked, it looked like they are content with a 3-1 lead
-
3-1 after 2
-
We're allergic to momentum. That last PP should of been hungry but we weren't interested.
-
GOOOAAALLLL
STROME
-
Another one!

-
Though technically not a PP, I'm still counting it.
-
:O= :O=

Too many point shots getting through. If they're gonna be screening Charlie, block the shot.
-
sorry fellas, I'm done.

HATS ARE ON THE ICE
-
Caps win 5-2!
:)
-
50 points
-
We must be cheating? 5 goals??
-
I've noticed 8 doesn't get ice on the 6-5 anymore. :-\
-
Ok, so i got the Blues fans' side of this, what's the Caps fans' side on the
"Wilson hits neighbours and neighbours gets the penalty"?
Alot of them are still sour from when wilson nailed....sundqvist in a preseason game about 5-6 yrs ago or something?
So naturally it's hard for me to get a clear picture of what happened and I didn't get to see the game
Grats on the win

We got a call. Neighbors was basically just standing there. (Don't tell anyone) :raspberry: :snicker:
-
I didn’t catch that play live, the brief replay did look like Willy skated into Neighbors, but I didn’t see the few seconds before the collision. The call was interference, considering all the garbage the league has called on Willy they owe him.

Ok good. I was like come on man....BUT they (bally sports) made it very difficult to watch blues games (yes here in STL!!!) So alot of posters don't chime in bc, well, they cant.

Technically it was interference because the player did interfere with Wilson making a play on the puck carrier. Even though...I think neither Wilson or the penalized guy really intended on the contact. It's kind of BS either way, but technically correct. (I don't like it any more than you, but its what we had here last week)
Basically the guy set a pick and it allowed his teammate to skate away from Willy. Although I don't think it was 100% intentional. Usually you see this called on a D man down low where he impedes a player from going down around the net to attack the other D man.
My opinion is it was an unnecessary call. However....IF the Blue carrying the puck had gone consequently skated in, shot and scored a goal....and Willy was interfered with, then.....you should have made the call, and you can go back an make it after the fact, so.....
That penalty call doesn't bother me that much compared to about 1/2 of them these days.

Good win for the Caps. Pretty well played. And Oshie does look better since his return. Patches is making that line better. He has looked more and more solid with each game. He is definitely contributing. I like that line with Oshie/Strome/Patch....two skilled grinders and a decent skating center.
Maybe we should send Ovi to Oshies place in Minnesota during the all star break
And if we could just get someone to figure out Kuzy.

Just send Kuzy to Minnesota ....... with a one-way ticket.
