I was impressed by our discipline this game. The two calls against us were weak. The "missed" high sticking call on Oshie, Mr bloody Dan O' bloody Rourke!

Not that I'm picking a fight, but how are the players supposed to to spread Covid to cardboard cutouts in the stands?
Or were you thinking the danger was they were spreading it to the other people in the hotel room? (which was ONLY each other) WHich is where the violation took place - four players from the same squad in a hotel room without masks on. THat is where the stupidity is in the violation.
I'm not saying there should not be protocols and that players should not follow them or be accountable if they do not....I'm saying the protocols should actually make sense and be based on science in order to prevent the spread.
How are four players in one hotel room risking any further spreading than the same four players (plus 16 more) sitting shoulder to shoulder in a locker room?
They also fined Lavy for dropping his mask to speak. Stupid rule, but okay it's a rule.
BEFORE any of this happened (or came to light) I watched the Hens coach pull his mask down about 50 times to yell at his team during the Caps game....never heard any blowback from that. Not saying this is a case of bias, but rather just inconsistence in the administration and application of the rules.
The end result is...The players agreed to the rules and then (knowingly or not) violated the rules so they are being punished. I do not have a problem with that.
And if we are being honest....it's not even about the spread of Covid or the safety of the players. It's about the public perception of safety so that the NHL can have a season and generate some revenue.
