ifn you need to listen to the game on the radio, it’s on 104.5 tonight
efing ridiculous
Thanks. I don't usually check up on the radio changes. OP updated. Pretty lame the Caps can't find a support station.
Morning peeps.
Am I the only one who's not missing Kuzy so much??? :raised-eyebrow:
:refs4: |
I'm hoping "Halfway" gets an oar or two in tonight.... :P
not impressed with tonight’s jackass zebras
It's all very polite so far...
Gudas looks like a little, chunky, cuddly teddy bear..... :snicker:
Great goal! Who the hell is he?
I love his speed and effort. He gives 100%.
Great goal! Who the hell is he?
Great goal! Who the hell is he?
Really??? 8-0 4 year deal? okay. For what price?
new guy, apparently signed a 4 year deal
He's a newbie that shone in a couple of preseason games. Had a scrap, shows a lot of promise. I guess you had to have been there....
Ummmm :-|
He didn't look quite so "newbie" and shiny in that brief interview..... :-X
I just heard that. Hope he keeps contributing. 4 year deal should mean that we see big upside.
new guy, apparently signed a 4 year deal
Still an FNG til at least mid season. I‘ve got my eye on him.
Fucking New Guy:lmao:
I added some context to my post.Aha! He's been pretty good so far, but I hear ya.
What the fuck is wrong with these refs, they certainly don’t belong in the NHL .
Really??? 8-0 4 year deal? okay. For what price?
Dagnammit! :-(
To be fair, having watched the replay, it was the right call. Bah! Humbug!
I am good with that from what I've seen so far. ;D
he signed a 4 year deal at $1.5m per in July
This is true, as we all know. But still...Maye they're trying to do better.....
bullshit, far more contact than that has been allowed, especially when it’s on Holts
I just envisioned an image of the Canes' return trip to Carolina after this game.

Hey all - first chance to watch any live hockey this year. Watched the first two periods on DVR and now caught up. Shockingly little chippiness.:uh-huh:
Great - tuned in just in time to see them score.
My bad guys! If they score again, I promise I'll turn it off!!!!
If we had any kind of PP this game would be out of reach. Reirden has not come up with any entry plan without 92I was thinking aout this since you mentioned it earlier.
:poop: Lets see if we can give up another 2 goal lead to these chumps!! Seems like it's their "thing" vs the Caines.. :-\
[/quot
You negative Nelly. you! Now look what you've done! PFFFF! :suicide:
:poop: Lets see if we can give up another 2 goal lead to these chumps!! Seems like it's their "thing" vs the Caines.. :-\Good memory, and good point Mick!
Carlson got caught gambling.
He damn sure did Apace!!
Everyone knows you shouldn’t gamble when you’re on Quaaludes!!😂🤣
Rush
Good poker face though ;)
Can't believe these pricks have our number.. :poop: Should of been beating their ass (Literally) from the puck drop. :uh-huh:
Damn, both livestreams died for the last few minutes.
:raised-eyebrow:
[/quot]
My limk is still great. I think it wa the 3rd one......
We're in OT.
If you are holding the stick and it hits your face then who is guilty of high sticking?
should've been 6 points in 3 games, not 5, I blame the jackass zebras as it never should've gotten to OT
Zebras or no zebras there's no excuse for blowing a 2 goal 3rd period lead.. Much less to these fucking chumps! Wilson's either hurt or has gone soft. 3 games and I've barely noticed him. They add 2 supposed tough guys and start playing some pansy ass footsie style.. Oh well, fuck it.. We Carolina's bitch!! :raspberry:
It will be interesting to see what Kuzy does next game. He's inching towards the volcano in my eyes.
I remember reading/seeing about his earlier career. Seems to be rinse and repeat so far.
ie: rising star, superstar, crash and burn. Move.
He's reminding me more and more of Semin and Burro.
Some of the positives, however, after 3 games:
1) Some good early, and consistent hustle, especially from the FNG’s! (I love that acronym, thanks Houston!)
2) More puck firing at the net, with less cutesy crap and over passing, than before!
3) Defense seems to be able to react just a bit quicker to things, overall!
4) Even though it was only one game, I liked what I saw out of Samsonov.
5) Kuzy WHO?? (C’mon Kuzy! Ya gotta bring it NOW, not later! You had ZILCH of a preseason, when you should’ve had your afterburners on early!)

I favor your take, Mick, on this! They should have wanted this game more strongly and overcome whatever REF calls, when they had the opportunity to win in OT!
NOT my intention at all, to knock the ref haters here, as either way you wanna look at it, whether the standard is the refs are permanently against us, or NOT, Our Capitals have been a winning organization, including a Stanley Cup in recent history, and they’ve seemed to always find a way to win, BIG, even if you believe the refs have always been against us.
Again, no problem with that opinion, although I don’t agree with it, but either way they didn’t find that way to win tonight!!
A BIG 0/6, on their PP tonite, would be another great reason for the loss! Just sayin!
Rush
I agree with all of that. I will add one more thing I find impressive. The Caps all seem to know where to be on the ice most of the time. The hockey IQ and awareness on the ice is up a notch from years past.
I'm totally in with the Ref conspiracy. I've seen it way too often.
However, your point about the PP PP's is also very relevant
I understand where you’re coming from Lily.
Remember on the old board, around the time I was just a newbie, and AJ put out that chart that showed the referee bias?
That was really eye-opening for me, and it did definitely show that, at a minimum, there were several teams, including us, that came out on the short end of the stick with the officials, as well as some that seem to be abundantly favored!
My bigger point is that the Caps of been extremely successful team, in spite of the refs calls, demonstrating an uncanny ability to overcome the issue. So that, even if that is the standard, a given if you will, not only is it out of our control, but we’ve been successful anyway!!
Tonight we were not that team!
Rush
There could be considered an even bigger conspiracy.
Who here thinks that the Vegas Knights would ever have been allowed to win Lord Stanley at their first attempt? From a mish mash, a cobbled together team, comprised of unwanted, or expendable players from other teams.
We were never, ever going to lose that final. The NHL would neer have allowed it.
You DO know the NHL controls/owns/governs the Refs, right? There is NO independent body to govern them. The NHL owns them. They do what they're told if they want to keep their jobs.
Our power play was garbage. Really needed them to come through to get a win here...
I felt like we were driving play for most of the game, and the Carolina goals were from lucky counterattacks. It's kinda disheartening when you're spending all this time on the attack and one broken play leads to an odd man rush and the opponent scores on their first try. Felt like that happened too much here...
the league needs to change the goalie interference rule. There shouldn’t be any contact allowed while he’s in the crease, period. That would get rid of the interpretation part of it where the Caps get screwed more often than not, having it open for the jackass zebras to deduce if the player prevented the goalie from playing the puck is one of the stupidest rules the nhl ever made. I’ve been trying to find the video from a few seasons ago where a player was pulling on Holts leg pad but the review said the goal counted, at this point I don’t remember what team the Caps were playing when that happened.

watched the game late on delay. We can point to Caps lacking an Energy Line, particularly in the Reidon era. A line or shifting lines put out when your team as slacking and lethargic, to raise utter hell and get the team going.
Caps played better than the Cans for most of the game.
Can't go 0/6 on the PP and expect to win.
No scoring from our top line hurts....although Oshie scored so that's good.
Goalie interference call sucks, but is what it is. Need to sack up and overcome it. It wasn't a bad call. Fix the rule, make it clear and there won't be as much heart ache. (although I wasn't really surprised or bothered at this call)
Boys looked tired in the 3rd. Lots of hockey and travel in a short period. Not making an excuse, but it is a reason. Should not have come to that, and we were given an opportunity to win in OT.
Holtbly looked stellar in the first. It really could have been 2 or 3 to nothing the other way. I did curse him for allowing the goal in OT, but mostly just reaction and disappointment.
ANd like someone else said (yes, I'm too lazy to go back and credit you) the game lacked the intensity of the preseason game - which I found a bit odd and disappointing.
Go Caps.

Really, why in the hell does Hathaway only get 9min in a game like that,
