If Caps lose tonight I will be in complete panic mode. Have to win tonight. Big guestion is who will be starting in net. From the morning skate it was not clear so we will have to wait untill Trotz’ press conference at 5:00. Vrana is back in which IMO is good. He and Oshie are so overdue one of them has to score tonight.

I'm incapable of going to panic mode with this team. I guess that's what happens when you can read the writing on the wall in October. But if they lose tonight the team will be in panic mode and Trotz will have lost the lockeroom, if he hasn't already

A lot of people are calling for Trotz’ firing ( see Japers Rink) but I don’t see that happening during the season. I have to admit some of Trotz’ decisions are puzzling to me but what do I know.

I just hope to see a strong start and playing within their capabilities for a full 60 minutes.

Not necessarily. Automatic 1 game suspension, but it goes to Bettman not the department of player safety. Match penalty carries larger fines and suspensions. He could get 5 games or more.

I would say him or Ellers - though it seems one gets hot (like how Wilson is now hot and Ellers isn't) when the other isn't. And when you think that Carlson is now not only our best offensive defender but also sometimes our best defensive defender - it really says something about this team and its heart.

But I just wanted to note. That second penalty by Oshie, its indicative of some of the problems the Caps are causing themselves - sloppiness. Oshie spins 180, with his stick on the ice, but on his blind side - he had no idea he was spinning his stick right into the legs of the Sens player. Same thing with every other pass from Kuzy it seems. He starts skating up ice and thinks he's being all smooth and tries to pull-off a drop pass .... though usually to no one or really to a Senator. You know, if you had some leadership on ice and some accountability; crap like that wouldn't happen. But when you care more about jersey sales ... it kind of makes accountability impossible.

Its the same thing they did to Ovie back when he used to hit everything EVERY game. And when your team management/ownership doesn't have your back against a biased NHL brass ... well, you see what happens.

Well, I hope we can see exactly what the Caps are -- a team that struggles with the Ottawa Senators at home. For long stretches of this game they have dominated us and they are awful. We are not a good hockey team and will be lucky to stay in playoff position.

Well, I thought the calls on Wilson and Orpik earlier were bad but that is just an absolutely atrocious call. 7-2 in power plays with the Sens have 2 2-man up situation. Toronto would LOVE to see the Caps tank after we took out the Leafs last year. This fucking league is a piece of shit.

Remember, Holts was the one chewing ass a while back! This team of ungrateful underachievers probably passive aggressively turning on him for it. Even if they don't think they are, they probably are.. Room of head cases. Glad they got the 2 points though. See what happens the next 5 games. No slouches there.
