Old days are long gone, unfortunately.. But stages aint the problem, really.. It's counting 5-6+ caution laps every time. Anyway, I'll catch up to ya'll at some point. Gonna check out stage 3 of the Daytona 500.. There -will be- mayhem at some point!
Is Daytona race on now? Who would watch that over the Caps? 8-0
:poop:Looking pretty normal so far. 2 break aways and several point blank chances already.
Same Shit, Different Day!
Not sure I can see this team making them playoffs unless they get A LOT better than this. We gent our asses kicked every time out and look as slow as a bunch of molasses.I was thinking the same thing. A lot of good teams crawling up our ass in the standings.
I wonder if where finally gonna see Willy V Reeves? Willy will have his hands full that’s for sure
I'm waiting for that myself. Not sure if Wilson could beat him though. Reeves is a tough customer.
THAT is what I’m waiting for!!👍
C’mon Willy!!
Rush
What in the pan-fried fuck was that?No kidding. I have never seen a team the puck over this often. It's not a couple of guys. It's everyone. That tells me it's more about the system than the players.

Damn right!! Been thinking that since Toddy’s been hereSame here. It's been pond hockey since Reirden took over.

Our D is just terrible. I don't think any one of them would be a top 4 on any other NHL team. Its not just our defencemen. Forwards are a big part of team defense. I still think the biggest problem is the system. This pond hockey works early in the year but not at this point in the season.
You guys wanting a Willy-Reaves bout.... that would be a mistake. Let's just take the loss, get out of town and regroup..... and maybe make a trade for a legit defenseman.
Not that it makes any difference, but that tripping call on Orlov is total bullshit.Agreed. Orlov stepped up and made a play on Stone. Stone ran into him, there was no trip,
:O= ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!!!
WOW! What a fucking shock! You can't keep digging yourself a 3 goal deficit and coming back by playing "hair on fire hockey" in the 3rd period? Who'd have fucking guessed that? The 3rd period shows this team didn't play as hard as we all like to think in the first 2 periods. When they turned it up they took over the game but they didn't play like that in the 1st and 2nd. They don't put out the kind of effort required.
Anther 40 minutes of :clown: :poop: .. Rierden needs to do something different or get gone.. :wtf: Eller needs to be back on the 3rd line and let Boyd or Dowd run the 2nd line.. Only lines doing anything significant have no players with hands. At one point they said the faceoffs were 10-30.. They suckin ass every night now.
Prayers for Ryan Newman!! Boy took at heavy hit on the last lap. Still haven't heard if he's ok. They took him straight to the hospital..
Prayers for Ryan Newman!! Boy took at heavy hit on the last lap. Still haven't heard if he's ok. They took him straight to the hospital..That looked like a huge impact right into his roll cage at exactly the angle you don't want to be hit. Most likely he is going to be in bad shape as his head obviously took the brunt of it.
Post game interview Oshie admitted the guys weren't giving their all as the reason for the loss.
Coach should be FUMING!!!

Post game interview Oshie admitted the guys weren't giving their all as the reason for the loss.I think it's more than just the players because it's every single player. Reirden needs to make some changes and I don't mean personnel.
Coach should be FUMING!!!
Post game interview Oshie admitted the guys weren't giving their all as the reason for the loss.Speaking of the post game. I sure enjoy listening to Alan May. He knows the game very well.
Coach should be FUMING!!!
Earnhardt’s wreck didn’t look that bad, but...Yea, similar hit, but safer barriers and hopefully the seat/belts didn't fail tonight.. Keep hearing speculation that he was awake when transported, but nothing official..

The HC is just totally clueless and/or ineffective, as I've mentioned before. He either fails to diagnose what the problems are or is powerless to effect changes. That may not be 100% his fault if he doesn't have any talent but we still have the talent to be playing vastly better than what we've shown the last 2 months. If a coach can only win with superior talent at all positions then he isn't much of a coach. Look at what Trotz has done in 2 years with the Isles, a team that was basically a lower third of the league whipping boy for years.
As a team, they are SLLLLOOOOOWWWW. You watch Col, TB and some of these other teams and they are quick with everything. They skate fast, they pass fast, they transition fast. The Caps do none of it because they don't have the speed and they aren't even using what they have because they aren't skating. That's why we see all these crappy stretch passes and pucks dumped up the boards to center either to nobody or to the opposition.I don't agree that the Caps are (necessarily) slow. We HAVE seen them do all the above as fast as most other fast teams in the league. I think their slow play is due to confusion and not having either the desire or tools to handle certain opponents at high speed. Even lately when they turn it up they appear fast and explosive.
