I think the first tiebreaker is regulation wins. Im pretty sure we win the tiebreaker. If that is the case we clinched 2nd. We could still play either the Bruins or Islanders in the first round.

We are 4 points ahead of the Bruins. The Bruins can tie us if they win both games, but that would have to beat us outright.
If we end up tied I think the Caps win the tiebreaker.

Actually I like Eller. He is not a great playmaker or scorer but he is a very good 3c utility fill in guy who has risen to the occasion for this team many times in important situations
And Caps locked into facing Boston in the first round when the Hens beat Buffalo yesterday. After that win there was no other possible outcome. Only thing left to decide was whether they started at home or in Boston. Actually that was almost a certainty before yesterday’s game.
I don’t thing home ice mattes that’s much. Especially to the Caps. They are so bipolar with their play they play better away than at home sometimes
Last game of the season will have no impact at all on anything so I’m curious to see what the roster looks like
Anyway. Good on Caps overcoming a bit of adversity and winning a game.

the Caps will play the #3 in the first round, #3 is still to be determined as Boston has two(2) games left and the Isls have one.
The Bruins and the Isls play each other tomorrow, so we might find out then who the Caps get.

This makes no sense, that's the reason for the taxi squad this season. Theoretically they could have kept Carr up along with Pilon, but they didn't and elected to go with 11 forwards instead.

yep, they are required to keep a taxi roster, but this team doesn’t like to tell everyone what it is.
The Caps website is one of the worst I’ve seen at giving the fans accurate information.

I’ve been looking this morning, odd that I can’t find any talking head that says the Caps have won home ice. The closest is a comment by the coach saying they will start the playoffs at home.
