Rich - I didn't realize Alexyev is older than Sandin.  I'd still like to keep him and give him a real chance to develop further. TVR would be my first guy to go, but I think he is just a trade deadline guy that would get a third round pick.  I don't think other teams would be that high on him.  Based on that, I think the Caps keep them all just to have depth when the inevitable injuries come.

I'm afraid the boat may have sailed on re-signing Chyckrun.  They might have had a chance to get a longer term deal when they got him, but I bet Chyckun is determined to go to free agency for two reasons - obviously the money, but also picking the right team to be on for the long run. He has had to bounce around and play on crappy teams, so I bet he really want to be able to pick.  I was assuming the Caps would be crummy and he would not want to be here long-term, but maybe now we have a chance.

Carberry should not be pleased.
I had post game on in the background. Im pretty sure he was pissed about their recent home ice play (starts).

I rewatched the 10min condensed summary...Caps had the better of the scoring chances for both 1st and 2nd period and virtually nothing in the 3rd.

Every goalie we've played lately channels his inner Pat Roy for some reason.. Plus our shooting wasn't exactly sharp. Couple guys had 5' away chances and missed the net all together. Carlson had one, missed. Beagle had an open net, whiffed.

The sharks goal in the first was off an intercepted Sandin pass then a shot with Sandin sort of screening the shooter...I would like LT to make that stop even though it was a good snipe.
I slept through the 3rd (apparently as did the Caps) and the condensed replay didnt show the Wilson high stick penalty...

Caps still top in the division, all the east and 2nd in the league only to Minnesota.  Winnipeg has lost 4 in a row.

Caps did win 7 of last 10, including last 4 in a row, so they not gonna win them all, but need to win vs San Jose, coming off 2 nights rest.

They were outskated and outplayed and they refuse to hit anybody unless you count Wilson's high stick.  At one point, the Caps led 20-10 in shots.  From there to the end, they were outshot 21-8.  They've also been falling behind with regularity not to mention stinking it up at home for the most part.  Carberry should not be pleased.

Can't win them all.  And considering The Caps continously shot themselves in the foot it could have gone worse.
