So for a season review:

Carbury - not bad, the team seemed to play for him at times. He has been dealt a bad hand though.

Ovi - really just an awful year despite getting 30 goals.  Not sure how many 5 on 5 goals he had and for 2/3rds of the games he pretty much just half-heartedly skated around. He will keep chasing the record and it's going to be hard to watch.

Carlson - have to say he had a pretty decent year but he still made plenty of boneheaded mistakes.

McMike - seemed to take one step forward, then one back, but overall improved a fair amount.

Lappy - might be our best shot at a future top 6 guy.

Protos - regressed a lot after his contract signing. Hopefully they can get him playing with more fire.

Oshie - totally done and should retire but he will come back for the money - can't blame him for that.

Malenstyn - a very pleasant surprise. Hope they sign him long term.

Fehervary - our best dman, he had a pretty decent year with more improvement to come.

Willy - not great this year and wasn't skating that well - that knee injury might be a long-term issue.

Jensen - thought he had a pretty good year and has some speed which we desperately need.

Sandin - jury is still out, although his small size will continue to be a problem - especially in the playoffs.

Overall, we are obviously an old, slow team that isn't physical anymore and doesn't have any real star players.

They were only slightly worse than expected in the playoffs. I figured they'd steal at least 1 game. No expectations of winning a series. Hope they can improve in the offseason, somehow, someway. Need a #1C and a goal scorer. May be able to survive with the D core, but a #1D who can produce would also be nice.

After observing Oshie all year, I've lost hope he has the "common sense" gene. He'll be back next year and play (when he's able) till he stops getting paid or dies on the ice.  Love his enthusiasm, it's just not productive to the overall performance of the team. Is what it is I guess..

The "D" is almost as bad as the "O".  None of them are worth a damn aside from maybe Fehervary and he isn't untouchable
by any means.  Jensen played yesterday like he had brain damage.  They need to go get some D-men like you see on most of these other good playoff teams, guys that are big, hit people AND are fairly mobile.  We don't have a single one.

Thank goodness I don't have to sit through watching more of Slovie...I mean Ovie, looking disinterested and half asleep.

The early stuff isn’t bad on the eyes, but lately they’ve taken that Led Zeppelin/Queen influence and added Boy George/Elton John for aesthetics.

You can't allow 2 PPG in a playoff game, much less 2 SHG pus 6 PPG in 4 games and have any success.  Add in our own inept 0 for....PP, and pffffff.

3 games, there were no special team goals in G1

Apparently, there are squirrels on the track at Dover.

This heroic effort of a playoff series led in goals and points by that famous scoring machine Martin Fehervary:

Fehervary 2g 1a
Wilson 1g, 2a
Carlson 1g, 1a
Strome 1g 1a
Lappy 1g, 1a
Protas 0g, 2a
McMike 1g, 0a
Oshie 0g, 1a
Patches 0g, 1a
Alexeyev 0g, 1a

Ovie and everyone else on the roster 0g, 0a.

Oof.  Jensens's primary assist in the first minute...I thought they'd quit right then an there.  But, I thought this was probably the best showing overall of the four games.

The officiating did not change the inevitable outcome of this series, but it sure did make it a specials teams matchup WAY TOO OFTEN.  When was the last time you saw this many penalty calls in a 4-game Playoff series?  Especially one as vanilla as this.  Guess it wasn't close enough for anyone's tempers to really start flaring.

And most of our "stars" were invisible during these playoffs.  Ovie, Oshie, Wilson, Strome...I recall Strome doing some, but same story all year...not enough from our "top talent"

Ovi said he was "healthy" during the playoff series. Just another example of being too old, big and slow for playoff intensity. Oshie proved that theory as well. Those guys should be buried on the bench in high intensity games, save only for PP maybe. Carlson looks like he's got another year in him, though not sure at 25 minutes a night. Be nice to find his replacement so he could get 15-20 max and be fresh at the end of games. Going to be interesting offseason. Hope GMBM doesn't  :poop: the bed.  :cross:

If I'd only "listened" they'd be fine. They're just way too goofy for me. You can't unsee that shit. :snicker:
