Thanks Holts.  It was fun.

(But did we really have to make his Caps tribute about BLM?)

Loved Holts, but seems his story has become more about politics than hockey.. Best wishes.

Braden Holtby is a thoughtful person.

An outcome of that thoughtfulness is that he decided to VISIBLY express empathy for and support of certain inclusionary causes.

This is an admirable quality in a world where people like to hide their loyalties and express them anonymously.

As such it is appropriate that his sendoff message includes this side of him.  It IS part of who he is and the face he deliberately decided to show as part of his relationship to the community.

we, a vast majority of Americans, don't have a problem with that. But there is a big difference between BLM sentiment in primarily black neighborhoods and support for such, and what BLM Inc stands for. That is what bothers us.

 8-0 Once again........

Holts famously went on a gay pride march and has advocated for equality.  ALL equality.
I don't understand why this is such a surprise, or an issue for some of you, ..   seemingly.

What IS that difference?

The "sentiment" is, they want equality for blacks.. The "reality" is (BLM Inc) has raised multi millions of dollars, but has done exactly -jack shit- for the black community.  Not a single school, housing project, job, youth program, etc., created.. They line their pockets and donate the rest to the DNC (who also hasn't done jack shit for people of color). And that's when they're not rioting, looting and destroying public property.

Thank you Mick.  As always, a voice of reason.
We actually have  lot of BLM stuff here now also.
I find it incredibly divisive.

Oh it is! Has this story (below) even made it to the UK yet? It's a bombshell and it's from the New York Post. 4th or 5th largest newspaper in the US. Twitter/Fakebook/NBC/CBS/ABC/CNN won't even report on it here. And I mean, they don't even deny it, they won't even mention it!

Oh, and again, Best wishes Holts..  :snicker:

I started to become a big fan of NHL hockey at the tail end of Kolzig, had high hopes for Nuevirth and was a huge fan of Holtby.  Holtby was my first Caps jersey.  It's just weird to see him in another jersey.  I guess that just normal in pro sports of any kind.
