Title: Artificial crowd noise
Post by: BarfingMonkey on Saturday August 01, 2020, 12:37:32 PM Eastern
I think it's distracting.
I enjoy listening to the hockey noises and players instead.

If you must have crowd noise, keep it down to a minimum.  The exhibition game was too loud.

I've noticed the other night and today, the crowd noise is at a perfect level.  There might not even be any!

Play nascar noises instead, or a jungle expedition noise, or underwater bubbles!

Okay, rant over.

baseball is doing the same, and it's pretty convincing when you listen over the radio

I think my main issue is with my bad hearing.  So when there are multiple sounds, all I hear is noise.  Can't hear what the commentators are saying, the ref etc...

I would be quite happy listening to the players skates and chirps on the ice rather than a crowd roar.

1 more day!
:D
I think i'm getting stir crazy/cabin fever.  Plus I stopped drinking, so maybe that's why I've been so cranky lately.

a lot of it is how the sound engineer mixes everything, the commentators shouldn't be drowned out by everything else, just as with live music the singer shouldn't be drowned out by the instruments

I quit drinking one year for lent, I had no problems with it but we didn't have the cabin fever at the same time, I do remember having a lot more cash in my wallet though
