Orlov has to put in a better effort on that. He got beat but he has to try to make some kind of a play on Rust. It doesn't matter if he has to take a penalty to save a goal.

Might be. I wouldn't really blame him on any of the goals but hasn't made any tough saves in this game that I can recall. Be nice if one of our goalies could bail out our defense once in awhile. I have been concerned about our inexperience in goal. I keep hoping that one of them gets on a hot streak and takes over the reigns but it just isn't happening.
They have both played well in spurts.
Goaltending might be a problem come playoff time.

This season I'd say our goalies have had a handful of great games. Vanecek had 3 or 4 really good games earlier in the season.
The only really good game I remember from Samsonov was the 1-0 win over the Isles.
Now I'm starting to lean back towards Vanecek. I really don't know who is the better option.

BTW I don't like or dislike either of our goalies. To be honest I wanted us to keep Holtby even though he has been pretty mediocre the last 3 seasons.
I actually wanted the Caps to trade Samsonov when he was hyped up before he got here. I don't think Samsonov has played up to expectations.
And Vanecek was an after thought. I never thought he would make the big club but he did. He has definitely exceeded expectations.

Itis widely regarded that colour has an effect and influence on one's psyche. Wearing, arguably the second most boring colour, (after beige), is not exactly inspiring our guys to, "get it up".

So by that math...Vitek owes us 6 stops in the next 6 breakaways

It does seem pretty dumb for a team, whos slogan is "ROCK THE RED", to come out at a home game, where fans have only just been allowed back in, to then wear these dumbass blue jerseys.

Not much to say. The Pens were the better team.
Jarry was strong for a 5 or 10 minute stretch in the 2nd. Other than that we didn't test him much.
In the end Sammy actually wasn't bad. He didn't let in any softies. 2 breakaways and a lucky bounce.
Our best forward was probably Mantha. Everyone else looked very slow.
Hathaway had a tough game. I would say a bad game but a couple unlucky breaks.
And I have no clue why Lavi messed with the lines. It didn't work.

Went and watched the truck race. Line swap still a mystery. Nothing special from the goalie, or the 28 million dollar scoring foursome, get what ya get..
It's nice we have 2 good goalies! Unfortunately we're gonna need a great one here shortly, since every mistake or bounce seemingly ends up in our net. Oh well, see ya Monday!
