Hopefully just dinged....but FFS already. We have one regular starting center playing tonight? Glad the kids are showing some spark cause otherwise this would be downright ugly by now. Also good the kids are getting real minutes and contributing to scoring...and you are getting goals from guys like Hathy. Now if someone would just show Hags where the net is.
Looked it up....Hags, TVR and Falloutboy are the only three Caps without a goal (and Falloutboy has looked pretty good in his...4 games). I'm not knocking Hags as he contributes in many other ways, but damn....with them wheels you'd think he'd get a goal now and again.

So to summarize, through 16 games -- 20% of the regular season, basically:
We are 9-7.
All 9 wins have been in regulation, only one of them a 1-goal win. All the others have been 2 or more goal victories.
ALL 7 of our losses have been by 1 goal, 5 of them in OT, and NONE of the 5 got to the shootout.
It certainly seems that we have a serious problem with the 3 on 3 play. Not enough speed in the open-ice format, and weakness on face-offs that leads to extended puck possession for the opponents.
Early on, this certainly has the look and feel of an extremely frustrating season

the Caps looked much better last night in OT than previously. It only takes a half a mistake in OT to blow it.

3-3 OT looks about like the PP. Just not much danger coming from us. At least they had possession last night, still only took 1 decent chance to beat VV. Our goalies get beat "clean" quite a bit.

So I see you guys kissed my sister last night in my absence.
Man we suck at the 3 on 3 so far this year. Winning a faceoff in OT would help. 3v3 is always a crap shoot - Too bad we keep ending up the ones crapped on.
Put McMichael, Sprong and Sheary out there. Fuck it. At least it would go fast one way or the other. If they manage to get the puck, it'd be tough to keep up with them. Or throw big Willy out there. We can't seem to win with with Carly out there on D and face it...he aint out there as a D man anyway. Kuzy ought to be better at the OT with all that ice. Not sure Ovi has the wheels for it
OR if you want to get crazy - start the OT with the goalie pulled and go 4 on 3 :wackysmile: Problem is you need to win the draw for sure.
1 point is better than none, but FFS win an OT game for once. Didn't we use to be really good at winning OT?

Ovie aint fast enough, Carlson aint fast enough, Wilson aint fast enough, etc., etc.. I'd rather see Jensen, Fever or Orlov out before Carlson. Ovie can't get away from anyone to do his thing, so he's also about useless in OT. Kutezie skates around with the puck too much, with nothing dangerous happening besides wasting time, forcing a bad pass or eventually just turning it over. But he at least has the wheels to get a chance every now and then. Once Nicky gets back, he's probably also too slow. Oshi will help. Is what it is I guess. Got 1 point at least.
