Can’t emphasize enough how deeply underrated this genius “MUSICIANS MUSICIAN was! So above all of his ilk, in both the studio, and on stage. A humble man, always true to himself, following the path of personal preferences, deflecting the pressures of fame, where the powers that be, want to be able to conform you to a persona of their liking, and for their financial gain.

Roy Clark would have none of it, and instead, let his fingers speak for themselves, damning the critics to the point, even they had to relent, allowing him to create his own lofty place, at the pinnacle, along with a rare, and precious few, of country’s greatest guitarists. Even that is a bit of an understatement when you add in the banjo and fiddle!!! A virtuoso on ALL!!

I love that he made no apologies, to those who considered him selling out, with his years at “Hee Haw”.! He had a special bond with one of the characters called grandpa Jones, in real life,  and did a tribute to him when he died.

Thanks for the news Alta.
RIP, and God bless you, Mr. Clark. The world has lost a good one!!
