If you have ever played goal you would know that Sammy was not at fault there.
If Sammy stuck to doing his job, ie being a goalie, it wouldn't have mattered if Schultz gave it up or not. He would have been in position to defend his net. He wasn't. He was tring to be a smart arse.

Boston looks faster, crisper, hungrier. We look old and tired with a few exceptions. Having said that, no excuse for that Dowd penalty that let them tie it. As well as he's played, that was a real dumb play.

In that case, he should of banged it around the boards or stayed in his net. He misplays the puck about 80% of the time, so I'd of rather he just stayed in his net. But again, it was gonna happen one way or another. We ran out of gas at the 58-60 minute mark..

I think everyone is done with them. The only reason Kuzy even played was because Eller got hurt.
I was also surprised that Sammy got the start. Anderson wasn't even the backup so does that mean he is injured too.

Secondly, being a goalie is a bit like being a drummer in a band. They're all a bit off kilter. As a bass player, I tended to get on with most drummers. You however.. I'm not sure that you ever played well in any team.

The fourth line is the only line that has looked good in three games

Maybe we are focusing too much on the OT goal. Yes it was a shitty play but there were a lot of other bad plays made in the game.
Our best players gotta start playing like our best players.
Ovi and Backstrom have to be better. Kuzy is a total joke right now. Wilson and Mantha have been ok I guess. Carlson has been a no show.

The regular season said that the playoff teams from this Division were virtually identical quality. This playoff between #2 and #3 has produced three overtime games thus far. Seems to me as though this series is simply validating what looks to be obvious.

Anybody else hate Caps playoff OT as much as I do?
Maybe it's just the Caps 40 years of poor playoff history or maybe it's just I care too much so I'm totally stressed out the WHOLE time were are in OT. That and when you hit two posts late in the third (I think it was) you know that shit is going to haunt you come OT.
OT does usually end on a bad or lucky bounce (or a mistake like last night). Last night was worse cause it was such a waste. Handed them the damn game.
I was actually encouraged by Sammy's play up to that point. I hoped he would shine, but didn't really think he would be ready. He can't of had much playing time to get back to game focus. He was pretty damn good for the most part though. He had to be cause we were getting out played most of the night. Boston had like 9 scoring chances in the 1st OT alone.
Something just isn't clicking. Boys need to get it going.
And Jesus OVI....leads the league (active players) in playoff goals (70) and NOT ONE SINGLE playoff OT winner? WTF dude?

FWIW, just chiming in on the winning (losing?) goal. The guy with the puck has to take responsibility. It doesn't matter what Schultz thought. Samsonov has to be proactive there not just leave the puck with the d-man 15 ft. away and saunter back to the front of the net. He also HAS to know where the opponents are. He had no friggin' clue that a Bruin was bearing down on him. By the time he realized that, the game was over. The sad part is that he played a stellar game up to that point although I thought he was down prematurely on the Hall goal but I'll give him that one. Bottom line now is that they need to win tomorrow or it's golf. No way this team comes back from 3-1 down.
