Caps win 4-3

OV is a game time decision. He did not practice yesterday after getting his leg tweaked against Carolina. Lindgren is eligible to come off IR today, that decision is also pending.
Kings goalie Pheonix Copley is out for the season with ACL surgery.

Kings have lost four in a row (0-2-2) and eight of their last 12 (4-5-3).
Caps have lost back-to-back games getting outscored 12-5, and six of their last seven (1-4-2).

I guess at some point we'll play a team that isn't "The best in the league" in 2 or 3 categories?
-
the first PP did not convert

Great game!
-
Didn't see that coming.. We'll take it!
-
So we finally found the keys to success. Now we can start winning. All we need is:
1) 3 goals a night from our fourth line, + 1 goal from Strome, (Carlson goal was a 4th line goal)
2) Keumper to have a good game
See there's hope :-|
It's a good win, but Anytime you get three from a fourth line, you should win a game
The disturbing thing is...our top three lines produced almost zero offence. Pactch/Ovi/Strome was nice tic-tac-toe, but was a gift from their D...basically a two on 0.
I've noticed trend in TOI shifting lately: McMike 17:22, Dowd 17:07, Strome 14:28, Kuzy 12:46
Our 3rd/4th lines getting more ice time than our 1 & 2
Also it's nice to catch an opponent in the doldrums now an then...Seem like we usually draw teams on the upswing or hot streak or something.
Nice to see them win it regardless. Go CAPS
-
Kuznetsov can invisible an entire line, like it's nobody's business!! Need to waive or buy him out.
-
Kuzy is a $7.8M cap hit. The Caps should be able to get a decent center that doesn’t get stupid stick penalties all the time for a couple mil less.
-
I think they move him at the deadline...trade him for back of pucks, but prolly gonna retain salary, but please, please, please no picks go with him
-
Honestly, I don't think we can even give him away. We'll definitely retain salary, which I imagine still counts toward our cap hit? And probably still have to give a pick or something? I mean, the dude is worse than Mantha last year. :(

Honestly - I'd put him on waivers and if no one takes him, let him take some AHL bus rides and see if that changes his perspective. (Though, I'd kind of hate doing that to Hershey.) At this point, I wouldn't wish Kuzy on my worst enemy.
-
Other than setting a shitty president for others that might want to play here, I agree.. But waiving a "star" player is probably not gonna happen. Though if shit hits the fan, who knows.. I'd start by scratching his ass a few more games. (If a trade can't be had anytime soon)

You’re right Mick, they ain’t gonna waive him. It would look bad for the organization, but damn if he hasn’t earned it. Right now, not playing him is addition by subtraction.
