Didn't they hire one before this season started?

To be fair, the lineup is missing Backstrom (decent face-off man) and Dowd (best face-off man on the team) at the moment.

Maybe the most encouraging development on that front is that Kuznetsov seems to have improved from abominably bad to merely poor, though he still has his days when he gets overmatched in the circle.

Look at it this way:  The team is off to [at least] a very respectable start despite at this point having 1/3 of its forward roster Hershey call-ups.  I'm wondering, though, exactly what type of player Backstrom is going to be when he returns.  His issues have obviously been more serious than originally portrayed.

Mickstix:
I know were missing Nick and Nicky, but god damn, it's a fucking faceoff. Seems like these guys would learn how to take a faceoff about a week after they learn to skate. WIN ONE ONCE IN A WHILE!!!!  :snicker:

And yea, not really sure what to expect when Nicky (and Mantha) get back. Lots of money tied up there.. Those two packed up for a youngish, fast, skilled center would be nice.

Last night it was even more than 1/3.  We had 5 rookies in our top 12 forwards, missing our entire second line [Backy, Oshie, Mantha] plus our 3rd and 4th line centers in Eller and Dowd.

I am loving seeing these kids finally getting a chance to play,  You can't beat young legs in back-to-back games and 5 games in 7 days and 7 games in 11 days.   We went from being one of the oldest [if not the oldest] teams in the league to a youthful group.
