I got to watch a game!!! IT was on NHL Network for me. I watched it late.
1st period was pretty piss poor except for the Oshie/McMichael/Sheary Line. They had several good chances and I thought they were the best line all night, continually hustling and creating chances.
Kuzy actually looked pretty good on the game as a whole. Doing that circling the wagons thing again round and round the zone he goes. Although his circling drop pass at the blue line to Jenson (I think) scared the living shit out of me - it was about 4" from being a drop pass to a 2 on none break away for the Bruins.
Nice to see Big Willy score too.
No Kicking motion? :huh: What the fuck replay did they watch? The guy totally kicked the puck in...It's second nature and how you get the puck out of your feet, you kick it up to your stick. I'm sure it was not his intent to just kick the puck in the goal, but that is what happened. Even the Boston announcers were laughing about it and later when they missed on a scoring chance one of them said "just kick it in!"
Vitek looked very good except for the one he thought he had and it was laying on the ice Taylor Hall chipped in. And he didn't look so good on the Pasternak breakaway, but.....it was like the 10th breakaway or odd man rush so...
Actually Vitek made LOTS of great stops to keep us in the game so I'm not faulting him at all. I'd say he had a very good game to give us chance to win.
So overall...we looked like slow doo-doo in the first (except for TJ/MM/Sheary), but picked it up pretty well after that.
Pretty sloppy D overall, but I have to be happy with the outcome: goals by Kuzy, Willy, Oshie, and Mantha including one PP and one in OT. Especially nice to see all four of those guys score. I think Ovie had 2 assists?
Our goalies are going to have to be sharp if this is the kind of team D we are going to play in front of them.
I thought VamRiemsdyk played well. Have not really seen him play much. Well....he moved the puck well and was involved in the play - I don't know that any of our guys played good D
I'll take it...got to watch the game and even got a OT and shootout win :huh:
