MLB did this shit too, aired a few games on bookface. They got lots of angry backlash for that. The NHL will to if I can't watch this on the cable that I already pay too fucking much for.

Yea, not sure how many (Caps) games are scheduled to be on ESPN+, but for those games like tonight, they won't be on TV of any kind unless it's via a stream. They'll all be on stream eventually. Nascar even had a "stream only" weekend this year for the Xfinity series.

Not that it applies to me since I have no real internet at home, but....
when you guys stream...do you stream to a laptop or pc and then connect to a tv or are you streaming direct from the TV? Just curious. I stream at work on my PC, but not the most comfortable place to watch a hockey game. I tried once to stream direct to/from the TV in the other room, but once I got it working, I kept getting annoying pop up adds and "girls near me" looking for men and such. Kind of difficult to keep shutting them down with a TV remote so I just went back to my PC.
(I know Lil uses like old rabbit ears hooked to a CB radio hot wired to an old Pong game monitor or some shit, but you high tech folks are way more saavy) (okay, maybe she's updated to an Atari console, but still)

SmartTv is all you need, via the web browser feature. (sounds like what you did? Tv browser may not have very good antivirus/popup protection?) But I have a computer hooked up to my AV system, which feeds a HDMI signal to my tv. So, I just log in here, click a stream link and go, same as if I was on the laptop. I download (ie: borrow) :raspberry: lots of HBO, Netflix, Music, etc. so having a PC hooked to the yamaha and tv makes it easier, w/o using thumb drives and shit..

I have Smart TVs but I refuse to connect them to the interwebs. Most of my streaming is done with the play station, but sometimes, like it looks for tonight, I will plug the laptop into a tv with an hdmi cable
