Oh boy....listed on IR and Lavi says "week to week" doesn't sound good.  WTF did he injure? Shoulder maybe?  Maybe he over-twanged his twanger?

Jenson has been surprisingly good this year...I mean better than I expected anyway.  He has played tons of minutes and been pretty solid.  Muchly needed with the crew of D we have.  I thought Fever was excellent and he's kind of had some moments lately.  TVR has been a bit better then I would have given him credit for and Shultz....well....hasn't been injured much yet.

Our lack of depth on D is going to start costing us some wins.. (and I mean NHL caliber depth)

Is Orlov back from the naughty list yet?

Is Johnny Q Norris back from injury yet?

Kempney, Irwin, Cholo....hmmm not sure these guys are really NHL caliber.  Kempney definitely lost something...Irwin I think is coasting the last couple years of his career as an emergency fill in and Cholo...know nothing about him and he's young, but I don't think he's been too solid.  I have not seen him play that much.

Bored.  Bored.  Bored.

Caps slipping in the standings...sort of.  Currently in 4th in the Metro and 1st wildcard spot with 58 pts.  Boston has second wildcard spot with 54 pts but have 4 games in hand on the Caps.

Hens have won 6 in a row and 8-2 in last ten.  Now second with 59 pts to Rangers 60pts, and Hens have one game in hand on the Rangers and the Caps.  Canes in third with 58 pts but they have 4 games in hand on nearly everyone (except Boston)

Caps need to wake up a bit.  To fall completely out of wildcard Detroit needs to pick up 13 pts to match Caps current 55 (Wings have 1 game in hand)

Montreal and Seattle now the only teams without an OT victory.  Both have 1 shootout win thought.

and...

I'm bored.

meh, as long as they are in the playoff picture I’m not overly concerned, every team has ups and downs during the season. The trick is to have more ups than downs.

Yeah, way too premature to give it too much thought, but....

I'd rather Caps come in 3rd than one of the Wildcard spots.  Much rather play Shitsburgh than Florida, and Carolina is the last team I want to face...they just way to stingy allowing goals and I think they have a good playoff type team.  They are all good teams and you have to beat them to advance, but Carolina is not my first pick to match up against....They WORK way too hard compared to the Caps.

Not that it will matter much if the Caps don't right the ship AND get some improvement in their special teams and consistency in goal tending...and some secondary scoring, and....on and on...  Special teams matter less in the playoffs so maybe that will be less detrimental to the Caps, but it'd be nice to at least be a PP threat to help prevent teams taking liberties with your soft team.

Caps always seem to have a lull mid-season, just hope it doesn't get worse after All-star break (when it usually hits).

On another note....anyone know the status/prognosis on Big Tony Ray Ray?  It's been almost three months since shoulder Surgery (Nov 5).  How long after shoulder surgery till you start skating?
