it's only one game but this looks like a big improvement over Vrana

Fat Tony Ray-Ray looks like a better fit on this team.  He can certainly have a bigger realistic (playoff success) impact than Vrana.


I'm not knocking Vrana, but he dug his own grave here.  Watching him score that OT winner and then pouting like a lil bitch right after made me mad.  No excuse for that.


But then I'm old school hard hitting hockey kind of guy so....


Although I will admit Peter Bondra was one of my favorite Caps ever.  (along with Huntsy, Langway & Ovie)

    Ya I'm liking Mantha. I'm still shocked that Detroit let him go. I really don't understand why they dealt him, he is still under contract, he is just reaching his prime.

Nice Debut for Mantha.  He had to have like 6 shots and at least 3-4 good scoring chances.  I hope he really gels with this team and makes us a real threat.  (although I worry about our goaltending)

I don't wish anyone ill will, but if Vrana doesn't get his head out of...the dark...he will be looking for a new team next year.
I hope he finds his game and is a positive for the Wings...(until they face the Caps in the SC finals)

      You should give the Flyers a little more respect. Their struggles have been more in the defensive zone and goaltending. They aren't a bad offensive team. So holding them to one goal is good.
       It's not like they were playing the Sabres.
    Not sure about you guys but I think what cost the Flyers was the Covid protocol. They had several games postponed and when they returned they played a ridiculous amount of games in a short period. I think that was when their season turned for the worse.

      He did play well other than the turnover. But remember Vanecek has had some bad turnovers too. Samsonov is actually better at playing the puck than Vanecek.
   I actually am liking Samsonov a little more than Vanecek.

He looked great last night, let's hope he keeps it up.  From what I've read he can have consistency issues.
