Just before the game I received a dozen beautiful roses in the mail delivered by UPS. My wife was VERY curious who had sent me roses. I found the card in the box. It was from Chewy.com, the place I buy all my cat food. Very odd.

what's amazing when you think about it, these parents are putting their 14-16 year old kids into what equates to college level football. These same parents would never allow that.

On the other hand, I never had, and still don't have a bicycle helmet. I destroyed my first dirt bike wearing geans and a tshirt. What eventually did me in was becoming complacent at work with something I'd done 100 times before

I used to race and was very good on my mountain bike. I was on an easy trail I'd been on a hundred times before. I went around an easy turn and for some reason I could never explain my bike did not make the turn and I went headfirst straight into a huge tree and fell into the river. I always wore a helmet. Moments like that showed me that you just never know. Without a helmet i would likely have been knocked out at that speed and possibly drowned in the river. it drives me nuts that my wife won't wear hers to this day. She was always a bad example for our son, but after a couple falls I convinced him it was smart to wear one.
