When it's obvious the team isn't or can't generate any offense, pulling the goalie is pointless. The Caps were on the power play and it barely looked that way with the 6 on 4

   I haven't seen much of this Rangers goalie but he looks pretty good. He seemed to be in position all game and controlled rebounds very well, especially with the blocker.

    I don't care about empty net goals against. Everyone it's a last ditch effort to tie a game. The success rate isn't very high especially when you are down 2 goals.
So we lost 4-1 instead of 3-1.

Who said said it was about empty net goals. I call it being realistic and keeping moral up. The Caps didn't generate shit all day but magically they will in the last 2-3 minutes when down by 2? Title was luck that kept the Caps from being shutout today, not skill.
