Welp..  2 goal lead squandered again. Caps hockey!  :clown: :poop:  Time to stop splitting games between goalies. Im ready for a full dose of Sammy unless it's back to back games.

Sammy didn't look all that good last game

We have to have the absolute worst 3rd period differential in the NHL? 4 ga's last game, 3 (so far) tonight.. Weak..

I didn't think he looked bad either. He has been better than Vanecek recently.

Very poor puck management in this 3rd period. First Chara then Oshie.
Alan May pretty much said the exact same thing.

it was pure dumb luck that Sammy carried a shutout halfway into the 3rd, he was way out of position several times and Rags fanned on a wide open net, could’ve easily been 4-4 at the start of the 3rd

The one thing I agree about is that Sammy loses his net way too often. I do like the athletic ability and he has decent size.
I think Vanecek positioning is a little better but he is having some issues with technique too. I don't think his lateral movement is as good. I don't think he controls rebounds very well and he should never play the puck. The big thing I notice about Vanecek is when he goes down there is alot of room upstairs.

I didn't think Vetek played "bad" or anything. But damn, the D made 3 bad mistakes (2 breakaways and the back hander) You gotta get a glove or stick on at least 1 of em'.. Fuck!

considering Vtek and Sammy are rookies, I think they are playing well. Still plenty of room to grow, as is expected from players their age.

Oh yea, both have great potential! Just a little late in the season to keep doing musical goalies, imo. Need to pick one and give them the keys to the net unless it's a back/back game. (or they start shitting the bed)

Ooh Fah.

Looks like I chose the right game to fall asleep during.  Fell asleep it was 2-1.  Woke up and ...

Got bit by an American Honey badger after couple nights of 3-4 hour sleep and that honey knocked me right out..
Or maybe I'm clairvoyant and I KNEW Caps were about to bed shit the game and my own self defense mechanisms went into action to protect my delicate sensibilities.

FFS - HIT HIM!!!
SHOOT - THE - PUCK

Caps were also up against that magical 10 wins in a row wall, I could've made lots of money on last nights game

I think Samsonov has alot more potential than Vanecek.

MagiciCal 10 games in a row? You must be superstitious.
