Orlov makes 2x the money he should. That's really my only problem with him.

Kuzy is, well, lazy. Lavi seems like a coach who may not tolerate that very long? We'll see.
I don't think Sammy has looked very good. He started off last season with a hot streak playing against weaker competition but at the end of last season and the beginning of this season he hasn't looked good at all.

Sammy? No idea what everyone's beef with him is..

I don't have a problem with Sammy. He's young and needs work to improve, and I think he was expected to be the number one. The season is still young but right now it looks like the Caps have their number one

There might be too much pressure on him. I think he could have used a bit more time in the AHL to develop.  The fundamentals aren't there yet.
Vanecek has impressed me. He is playing alot better than I thought he would. What has impressed me is how solid technically he has been.

Totally agree! I was referring to the "they can stay on quarantine" and "I don't care about the other 3" comments.. Seems a little harsh.

This franchise is remarkable at producing quality goalies. Not only that, they've seemed to trade the right goalie away at the right time. Look at the haul we got for Jim Carey, Varlamov and Grubauer. I feel the caps have excelled in the goaltending development department better than any other team in the league and I dont think its even close especially if the criteria is drafting and developing, not just developing.

Maybe samsonov has gotten too comfortable thinking the crease was his this year because you guys are right about him not looking good in the games he's played so far this season. Hopefully I the emergence of the V-tek Engine will push Samsonov to be better so that we'll have a 1A, 1B scenario.

At this point I think Samsonov will have to wait for his opportunity to get back in the net. There aren't as many back to back games this year even though the schedule is condensed. I'd keep riding the V-tek engine until it shows some signs of being tired. It's not fair to him to sit a game when he's playing this well. The two points on Monday against the bruins are important because I feel we'll be battling them for 1st place all year and then we don't play until Thursday and Sunday. There's no reason Vanecek can't play everyone of those games.

there is only one player on the ice that is allowed to use a broken stick, everyone else isn't even allowed to skate to the bench with one. I think it's a good rule, it's to make sure no one gets impaled

Last night OV tied Mike Gartner for 7th place in career goals with 708, in 275 fewer games than Mike. It was his 111th game winning goal which puts him in 4th place on that list:
1. Jagr          135
2: Howe        121
3. Esposito    118
4. Ovechkin   111
5. Selanne     110

and it was his 23rd OT goal, which is 1st place in that category:
1. Ovechkin    24
2. Jagr            19
3. Crosby       18
4. Kovalchuk  17
5. Elias           16

He definitely impeded Haglin, while holding half a stick. I'd call it ticky tack if they called it on us though, but the blatant non call trip and hold we get called for every game is getting old. I don't know the stats, but it feels like we get double the penalties just about every game.

I was screaming at the TV for an interference penalty.  I didn't realize it was a broken stick.  Either way, call it ticky tack or not, but him impeding Hags led directly to the opportunity and the game tying goal.  They have to call that....it had a direct impact on the outcome of the game.

FFS - HIT HIM!!!
