This team looks great. Our "shutdown" line is playing unbelievable. Eller will be out for awhile. I'm assuming we see scarbossa will stay in the lineup for at least one more game after tonight's performance. Wilson better be back next game. Between that hit on Eller and last year's hit on Backstrom, I could care less about the 2 points for the win Thursday night. Let's get those cheap shot artists next game in the back alley and not let them breath! Time to show who the toughest team in the league is. Take no prisoners! Lol

Is it okay if I post in Lil’s thread?

Boys looked great in the first. I don’t know what Panik and Hathaway did in the off season but I like it. They both have looked better this year.
Next game is gonna be rough. We will get Willie back but doubt Eller plays Thursday. He doesn’t get enough credit for the level of work he does.
Sounds like Pinho was dinged too so we are going to be short some centers. Hopefully Backy is just dinged and will be back ... playing with all your top three centers out would be tough

Charra looked like doo doo but it happens
Hags boarding call was joke...player jumped at the boards. Backy interference was horse shit too. Has anyone noticed they are not showing replays on many of the calls this year.
And what the fuck....My Dish broadcast was on a secondary channel and not HD
Not that I’m a snob but you have 600 channels and you can’t find one in HD for this game?
Hockey on an HD tv broadcast in SD is total dogshit. It’s blurry and hard to even see the puck. What a drag

It was a great performance by our guys, for sure.

One I definitely wasn't expecting.
I have been really impressed by some of the goungers and some of the older "newbies" also.

He's been pretty solid. In fact, given that he's new here, I think his conduct has been exemlarary and his leadership, without question. He has a knack of "steadying the ship". I like him.

I don't really. I thought he was a good signing at that figure...for many reasons.

Last night He DID lay a perfect pass into the slot onto the opponents stick for an easy goal though. (should have given him an assist) That was why I said he was doo-doo. He gave up the go ahead goal. Looked like an bonehead Orlov sighting.
Also, He is big and solid and moves guys in the crease, but he is not very mobile. I have seen him get beat around the corners with speed several times. I know he uses his size and reach and experience and smarts.
But...on the PK especially - against quick puck moving teams, I prefer a mobile guy back there on D who can react to movement. He is more stagnant type of stand in the crease and watch guys buzz around. Just a different style that suits his skills. I prefer a PK that attacks the puck and not just stands around and waits for something to happen. That was Caps from years ago and it drove me batty to watch teams just passing and circling and moving and the PK guys just sort of stood there waiting for a break instead of hounding the puck and creating a chance to clear.

well yeah but the game streams are in HD. And I have watched streamed games on my laptop at work- it's pretty good. Laptop at 3' is like my 60" HD screen at 10' distance

I literally could not see the puck at times. I toughed it out and lived through it.

Felt like a really good win. Was good to see (well...sort of ...at least the part I could see)

NIce win. I have always thought the Caps should rotate some players in from time to time. Keeps guys on their toes, gives some hope to the younger guys and allows them to rest an older guy every now and then. A couple things.

Faceoffs - we stink and it costs us points. Get a faceoff coach - work on it every practice!

Shootouts - don't mess with the first three - Oshie, Kuzy, Backstrom but after that, why not try Eller every now and then, or now maybe Schultz. Ovi should not be one of the top 6 - although that would be insulting to our leader so I get why they keep him in it.
