I thought Backy was just "dinged" by a puck to the face? Did he have another issue at the end of the game? I do realize he was out at the end of the game.
I'd expect Willy will be back tonight....he skated with the team prior to last game and then was game time decision. If he was nursing something, I'd expect with the number of casualties he'll be in tonight (not that I would push ANY injury to rush back...especially with THE future of this team)
If Backy and Eller are both out - I think we are toast for next game. Your only starting regular center is your fourth line (okay third line) guy? Not nocking Dowd, they have performed really well with the shut down tasks given, and sure they will keep that role and get more minutes, but with two/three subs centering new lines that haven't really played together, that's a tough row to hoe there.
Hey...good teams overcome adversity and find ways to win.
