Oh well, Caps weren't the young, hungry team that could function well in the bubble. Too many guys that had already made a bunch of money that wanted to go home. A few player observations:
Kovalchuk - waste of a draft pick and he took up a forward spot that somebody else could have been better.
Vrana - very disturbing that he was not engaged.
Carlson - even the NBCSN announcers were calling him out. He showed exactly why so many of us have been frustrated with him.
Kempny - finally benched - about time.
Fehrevary - bright spot for the future, really like him along with Seigenthaler.
Orlov - I have been a huge fan of his from the beginning, but I finally give in. He is average at best and makes way too many mistakes.
Oshie - one of the only guys that has the inherent need to win.
Backstrom - will be our worst contract. Will be injury prone with concussions and is yet another satisfied player that has made his money. He has been an elite player at time, but lacks the fire. He's won his Cup and his contract will be our biggest regret.
Kuzy - maybe a hardass coach can get him playing to his potential - at least 50% of the time.
