Who wants to watch a playoff game at 3pm?

But then who wants to watch one in Mid-August...with no crowd.

I thought I would be stoked for this, but I'm not really feeling it.

If I was driving we'd be there, when I go to Dallas I drive straight through. That's only about 16 hours of driving from here, what kills it is how often you gotta stop to p

damn thunder storm sounds like it's going to break the windows

Well we got to let Alta drive then....Dallas in 16 is getting it.

When our kids were young, we learned what a nightmare it was to drive to Grandparents in FLA, so we started leaving at 6-8pm....let the kids (and wife) sleep in the car all night while I drove.  It was SO MUCH less painful.  And Faster...not as much traffic at night, not nearly as many pee stops.  OF course there was less traffic in general 10-20 years ago, so....
Still a 12 hour haul though - driving at night with a minivan loaded with youngins and all the accoutrements didn't want to break any speed records.
My wife just came back from a visit last week and she drove home Sunday...hit some traffic.  She only stopped for gas and pee brakes and it took her 14 hours which is about the average these days.  Google says its a 12 hour drive, and we've done it in 12.  Young and speedy you might do it in 11, but you'd have to have favorable traffic and that's rare these days

We....which means SHE, (as I usually don't go as often) generally makes it a two day trip now with a break in NC or SC.  She's not really in a hurry and it's a miserable drive so she breaks it up.

Anyways, GO CAPS

we had a bad thunderstorm roll through from about 2:30-3:30, I'm surprised you didn't hear it

haven't had one that made the windows vibrate like that in quite some time, and now I'm tired as hell because I couldn't get back to sleep

I made the trip (drive) 2x back in the late 90's, before I moved. I've not driven out of the state since. I just hate driving any length anymore. 2 maybe 2.5 hours is my limit these days. Ass hurts, can't half see, old, grumpy... Yea, no.  :raspberry:  Your wife has the right idea! Break it up in -at least- half..  :)
