Yeah, well as usual, I'm about 5 games behind.  I have them recorded, but I rarely can watch them.
I decided to watch the most recent and watched the Nats vs O's from Sunday.
O's were pretty much in control - knocked out Strasburg with 5 runs by about the 5th inning.  So I'm watching this, pretty much ready to quit when it starts raining heavily (6th inning I believe)
THe grounds crew starts rolling out the big tarp and it's all tangled.  like 15 guys pushing and rolling and rerolling the thing around for literally 15 minutes.  They finally get it under control, but it's literally been 15 minutes of downpour and the field is ruined.
Coverage finally breaks away to alternative progromming....X-games or some shit   for like 2 hours.  I fast forward recording to the 4 hour mark to see the bright sunshine on the field and the umps and coaches standing around and the grounds crew literally shoveling up cart fulls of mud.  I think no way are they gonna fix this in time to play again.  My recording ends (4+ hours) and I don't see the outcome.

I see they postponed to finish another day....should just right this one off.  I think they were in the 6th inning but maybe it was only the 5th?
I thought they only needed 5 innings for a complete game.  Is it 5-1/2?

Picked the wrong one to watch - should have watched yesterday's game

Never seen any debacle like this on a grounds crew.  Someone's getting fired.

And the one bright spot - Jaun Soto.  This dude can play.  Can't believe how well this guy hits at his age.  Even his extended time off hasn't seemed to throw off his timing.  He is fun to watch.

there have been tarp issues before(not here) but it's rare, and I wouldn't fire anyone over it, definitely odd how it got tangled on the roller. But Nats park is a fairly new park, it should have all the state of the art drainage systems, this is the 4th or 5th time I've seen it not be able to handle the rain, and that wasn't a lot of rain that night.

Soto is an amazing talent. He only played 2-3 weeks in the minors before he was promoted, and definitely an improvement over that ass that wears 34
