I bet the electric street bike would go like hell if made right.  Have to govern the throttle to keep from whiskey throttling the thing into a permanent wheelie with the elec torque you could get out of one.  I mean, I have never ridden one, but if a Tesla can go 0-60 in three seconds, I bet you could get a hell of a pop out of the right bike.

And NO, I don't mean a scooter

By the way.  I watched Ford vs Ferrari movie last week.  Pretty damn good.  I'm not a car guy, but nice to see what 'mericans used to be able to do when they put their minds to it.

when I used to ride dirt bikes it was an all day affair, always needed extra fuel, same with jet skis
every place I used to ride the dirt bike is now housing or a shopping mall and I had no desire to
haul the thing three hours away to ride so that ended. I have considered buying a couple four
wheelers and some kind of rv/toy box rig to haul them down to the Hatfield-McCoy trails for long
weekends

electric does makes a good drag racer, you get %100 torque at 1 rpm, that gets you off the line
real quick. I still wouldn't buy an electric vehicle though, they are still a very niche vehicle IMO, and
they are not zero emissions, all they do is move the emissions from the car to the power plant

the ford vs ferrari story is a damn good one even when being %100 accurate

Bout the 3rd time I got on a dirt bike (prolly 12 years old) I hit a drainage ditch/creek going about 50 mph.. I was riding an old power line and didn't see it coming up.. Needless to say that was the last day I rode a dirt bike.

I'll also pass on just about anything electric propelled.. The instant torque would be fun but the lack of sound kills it for me.

So...the term "whiskey throttle" was not meant as a prescription for preparation to ride the damn thing you dumb redneck  :snicker:

And I "hear" you on the sound thing...although It makes me wonder if special ops have some neat electric desert buggies or even boats that can run super silent.  Well...until you fire up the MG on the things, but still...they got to have some.
I'll bet even tree-hugging Alta would dare to drive one of these  :raspberry:

That was a very good movie. Rah Rah USA!  To bad we haven't been as competitive since, though some are working on it.
BTW, I was living in France at the time of that 1st Le Mans race we won.
