learnt a few things today while fixing the antenna for the kitchen stereo, a bunch of radio stations are not what they used to be, 107.3 has been Jesus music since Christmas(not necessarily a bad thing), and DC101.1 now sucks ass
for about 10 years the only thing I use terrestrial radio for is 105.9 during the week and Nats and Caps games.

Damn, you have turned it off for a while.. :snicker: Yep, he's still an asshole.. I don't hate the stage racing but the other unnecessary yellows and wasted laps between stages killed this one. Darlington needs long green flag runs for their to be any good racing, outside of a lap or 2 laps at the restarts.. They really need the reporters on pit road and the announcers in the booth as well. Still, Im lookin forward to Tues and Wed!

I think I recognized about half of the names driving today, the stage racing just ruins it for me
but I was amazed there wasn't a yellow with less than 10 to go, I guess it wasn't worth pulling that horse shit on a half mile track

I like the stages cause they race hard to get those bonus points, but the caution that accompany them is unnecessary.. They should just waive the green/checker on that lap and award the points. But every "stage" yellow stops the race for about 7 laps.. Though, let a yellow fly with 5 or 6 to go before a stage and they'll have pit rd open and be back to green with 1 to go before the stage ends. It's silly.. Is what it is I guess.
They don't have as many of those late race faux "debris" cautions now a days, which is good. But they're still "yellow" happy anytime someone even slows down it seems. (As long as their a "name" anyway)
Oh, Darlington is over a mile, btw.. Late race yellow would of made it more interesting, but a run longer than 35 laps would of done the same.. Place eats tires and needs green flag runs.. Gordon let the cat out of the bag when he said "in his day, you had to save tires and rely on mechanical grip over all this new downforce" Which has also killed most of the side by side racing. Pretty much comes down to track position, pit stops and mistakes. Very hard to pass with all the downforce unless your car is really, REALLY good, compared to the competition.

The only race I've been to was at Darlington. . . .and, yeah, it seemed like at least half the race was run in caution. The crowd got so pissed off that booed yellow flags like it was a football game . . .
