In 2021 and beyond, I’ll completely agree with you.
But as of now, although the casualty/fatality rate is within acceptable numbers, the volume of cases in different countries are enough to justify the majority of the precautions. What is most important our economy.

IOW Military Triage: treat the lest severe first to get them back in the field ASAP.
This may sound like, maybe is,some cold-blooded shit, but it makes sense. I “assume”, this would not include immediate life threatening situations, but in a situation like this resources are the primary concern. Getting the less severe cases turned triaged treated and back out will both keep ICU and step down units less populated, and provide time for the virus to “hopefully” die off with warmer weather.
