It's nothing more than a team that has won the Stanley Cup in the past and is bored with the regular season. They hate the pens and the real caps showed up. This team is chomping at the bit for the playoffs to start already and where we finish in the standings really doesn't matter as long as we're in. Even with how badly the caps have played lately, teams still don't want to play us. Boston is the first place team in the league and is scared shitless of us. We've beat them 16 or the last 17 games.

Through the first 35 minutes of this game the Caps are credited with 35 hits, and are outhitting the Pens 3-1. 


Some games are deemed more important than others.


I would note that after his two goals in the previous game, Ovechkin has not a mark on the scorecard this game - except for 5 hits.
