As a team, they are SLLLLOOOOOWWWW.  You watch Col, TB and some of these other teams and they are quick with everything.  They skate fast, they pass fast, they transition fast.  The Caps do none of it because they don't have the speed and they aren't even using what they have because they aren't skating.  That's why we see all these crappy stretch passes and pucks dumped up the boards to center either to nobody or to the opposition.

I don't agree that the Caps are (necessarily) slow.  We HAVE seen them do all the above as fast as most other fast teams in the league. I think their slow play is due to confusion and not having either the desire or tools to handle certain opponents at high speed. Even lately when they turn it up they appear fast and explosive.

Speed and conditioning have not been a problem on this team damn near the entire OV era. There definitely has been a lack of intensity/desire at times, which is coaching related. Kinda like the current situation.
