Who knows what would have happened if Holtby was in net. He is struggling now but he is still better technically than Samsonov. Both the goals on Samsonov were because of poor technique.
I hope Holtby can get out of his funk. And I hope people realize that tge Caps play a more defensive game when Samsonov is in net. The Caps give up more high danger chances when Holtby is in net.
Reirden is doing a good job developing Samsonov. Putting him in a position to succeed. This is an important game in the development of Samsonov. His biggest test to date.

I generally agree on this, but that second goal Sammy let in today was on the defense IMO. Never should have left Hornqvist all alone for so long near the crease.

Sammy should've been able to stop that if he hadn't hooked the post with his skate, which he keeps doing, and it will cost him
