And I think this is pure fantasy.  Does he come with a unicorn and maybe a mermaid or two?

I know Panick is not well liked here, but I think he serves his intended purpose well and is a very good fit for what this team needed.  Size, ability, skills, CAPSPACE.  All a fit we needed in that position.
Remember he is a third line shutdown winger with good size, good PK skills at a reasonable price.....EXACTLY what the Caps went looking for.  I know his scoring is not where we want it, but most of you are unrealistic about this.  He is a 15g a year guy MAX.  He assets are elsewhere.  Yes, we would like a little more scoring, but he has picked it up of late...maybe nagging injury, maybe just dumb luck.  And, he fits well with Eller and Hags.  You gonna put a 38 year old Williams on the third line?  You gonna put Williams on the second line and move Vrana down?  That's hanging a plow on your racehorse.  You gonna break up the current 4th line, where we already have 4 guys for three spots?  No way.

I'm honestly okay with Panick where he is.  An average player who filled some much needed holes on this time (ahem....look at last year's PK) who is paid an affordable amount.  I recognize Hags is one of the best PK assets, but having Panick is a huge help also.  You can have Eller & Hags/Panik on the PK as one unit and save Kuzy and Nicky for 5 v 5......ESPECIALLY as they are aging.

Anyway, I think the Williams idea is just talk.  I would not be willing to trade off Panik for Williams at this point.  I like and respect Williams and he is smart and was a part of what we needed at the time, but not so much now I think.  More downside than upside, especially long-term to that swap (unless there was something else to go with it)

This roster seems to have good chemistry, and our lines are pretty well working out (Good Lawd...our 4th line is beast).  You would always like to see improvement, but I don't see a cause to upset the apple cart currently.  Never know what you are going to get with a trade.

(looking back, this is pretty much what 4 Caps said, just not as lengthy and eloquent (as me and....Puck) have a tendency toward.  :snicker:

BUZZ KILL!   :raspberry:

I already said in another thread that I am very happy with the team we have now, but if we could get Big Willy back, what is so wrong with that?
And WHAT exactly do you have against unicorns?   Where do you think rainbows come from, huh?

  :phew:

Hah. Hi lil

Nothing against your two Willys fantasy except we don’t have room for a second Willy at this time because of our over spending
You can still dream though

I can and will.    :P
What I wouldn't give to find an emojie of a unicorn farting a rainbow.....
Maybe we used that one up, the last game.   ;D

As much as I respect Williams's leadership skills, don't think we need another old out of shape guy on the team.

Panik might not be contributing much offensively, but he seems to not be half bad defensively. 38 year old Williams is kinda an unknown at this point because who knows what his conditioning level is like now.

PUCKNRUSH:
I’ve been in favor of Boyd over Panik, for the past few weeks, but I’m starting to agree with Rich a bit, in that he has been picking it up a bit recently!
I’ve noticed him moving his legs more, and puck watching less,  which has obviously contributed in where the third line has been, for the last several games, as a pretty energetic force to reckon with!
