Do you think guys the whole spectrum (dems and reps) moved left a lot? Especially dems? Nine years ago I felt i'm somewhere in the center. Now all California libs blow all my imagination. I would never vote for Trump, but here we go.

To put it mildly.

The Dems made the castrophic failure of going to identity politics, in part to coral the Bernie Sanders idiots.  This caused a rift in the party and gave the “riff raff” so speak a louder voice while alienating those who knew it was a stupid idea and could not directly profit for it finally.

This drove them and those in the middle to the right, who where smart enough to disregard the tea-party and excessive Christian overtones that drove people away.

The thing is , the people the left are pandering to now are in general not intellectually or economically viable to run for office or logically vote, in the US, and perhaps even more so Canada or Europe
