Leipsic looks better and better. Keeps playing with that edge and we gonna have to call him Dino. I really had never heard of him (or Hathaway for that matter) but both those guys are really making an impact. They make the best of the little time they get on the ice. Leipsic was definitely sniffing whatever Kuzy has in his locker, cause he was possessed with the hits last night. He knocked that guy off his skates. AWESOME.

YES, it was DAMN FUNNY TO WATCH!!
Hell, if I didn’t do the SAME THING, rewinding that Leipsic/Hathaway fight scene, during 2nd intermission, quite a few times, and soloing in on Carlson’s actions over the entire sequence!
Your “constipated” description is spot on, Rich!
I’ll add, that his actions we observe, during these “fight scenarios”, appear to me, to be an EXTREMELY CALCULATED attempt, by Carlson, to “ACT”, as though he’s just “right on the verge” of “wanting to fight”, and get tough, and get in there, and blah, blah, blah!
The problem for Carly is, (if you observe closely, over time), he’s ALWAYS, conveniently just out of reach, or CONVENIENTLY, not quite there in time, or CONVENIENTLY, positioned BEHIND a guy when the physicality, “meat and potatoes”, is happening, during ANOTHER teammates fight!
OR, he does a few meaningless, weaker, shoves or pushes, but he almost ALWAYS waits until the mood of the scrap has severely diminished, that is to say, it’s a much safer BET, that he won’t have to fight, but, at all costs, LOOK as if he were going to!!
A little frown, here, a little arms-length, jabber-jawing, there, a little fake-ass, smack talk, (albeit from a WELL CALCULATED safe distance, from the real fricasse), and you’ve got the ENTIRE table of contents, of John Carlson’s new book;

Now, I realize I’ve just hammered Carlson pretty heavy!
(BTW, AJ, I’m including a response to your recent Carlson post, here, as you and I have discussed him recently).
This is the reality of what I’ll call the “Carlson paradox”, as far as my opinion goes of him!
1) I, like Rich, do give Carlson major props for his stellar offensive contributions. I, now, truly feel he is CRUCIAL to the success of our team, and plays a large factor in why we are the current top team in the NHL, even to say, without him, we would NOT be #1 currently!
2) I absolutely can’t stand to watch him play, defensively! Especially, at his size. Just a complete PUSSY!! Year after year, too!
3) I have come to believe, finally, that the LOGICAL, high value, and contributions to the overall team play, has to outweigh the strong negative FEELINGS I have for his style of play!
For this reason, I know longer DISLIKE the TOTAL John Carlson!
So AJ, the answer for me is, I have to treat, and talk about Carly, BOTH ways!
IMO, because he is BOTH things!
That BIG, pussy defenseman, I reject....AND....
That awesome, offensive-defenseman we can’t do without!
John Carlson, again IMO, is totally worthy of both the SHIT, and PRAISE, I can simultaneously heap upon him, in the SAME GAME!!👍
This is how I keep my sanity when it comes to Carlson!😂🤣

I will always give Johnny Q Dylan Carlson a hard time. I will admit that not only his offensive game, but ALSO his defensive game have improved steadily the last several seasons. I even see him check guys now and then. I just want him to be more physical at his size (and POSITION). But he just is not. I have come to terms with it so I really don't dislike him anymore. His is not a defensive liability out there, but he is not going to muscle anyone out of the crease or prevent anyone from running his goaltender....or team mate...or sister....or mother.....WHoops....took it too far again. It really is not as much fun as it used to be when his guardian angel was here to defend him and heap praise on him every single game 8)
