Beaglefan2:
Agree on Panik. I just like the fact that he seems to want to shoot the puck.
I hate to say it, but I think I am done on Stephenson. I had hoped he would be the new Beagle, and even score a fair amount of goals. Unfortunately, he just can't get it done. Yes, he is ok on defense, but I thought he was really going to be good.

the reason I like listening to the game on the radio(baseball and hockey) is they give a lot more information, during the 1st intermission they played an interview that they did pregame with Gudas, talked about going back to Pilly and whatnot, how hitting/physical play is dropping off and Gudas noted the trend to smaller faster guys has been league wide, almost like the GMs had a meeting... when Willy was drafted everyone wanted 6’2”+ skaters. Not something I noticed because I don’t watch those kinds of numbers, or the draft really
Radio has a lower overhead so they give you less commercials, more information during intermissions, than tv does, the issue is the two broadcasts are never in sync, the are always off by 38 seconds, I recently discovered I now have DVR capability though, so with the hockey games I could sync the radio and tv as the radio is behind. Normally the radio is ahead of the baseball broadcast and that one gonna be more expensive to sync.... pitchers and catchers report in 90 days!!

I bought a program 20 years ago called TotalRecorder. It's a Windows based audio capture driver and recorder that can record any sound played on your PC. It also has facilities to schedule recordings. One of the features I recall and you might like is the ability to play back the audio delayed. I am pretty sure I used to do this with live active recordings. This might solve your baseball TV/Radio syncing challenge. They used to have a free trial period, but it appears now the trial is simply a functioning version that injects noise every minute until you pay for and register. It's a powerful program with a simple interface.

But think about this....Which team would you rather watch play....
Your 1972 Capitals or your 2019 Capitals?
I'm old school but can't say the old Caps were that much fun to watch when they lost more than they won...and not just winning/losing, but not really competitive

Thanks Rich!
I hadn’t really considered that angle.
Actually, that really is the sobering, bottom line, point to my issue!
It helps to better the confidence in my decision to change my opinion.
BTW, 1972 was just a quickie reference, I chose, to signify a general era of good fundamental pro hockey.
I could’ve used the 60’s, or any old school hockey decade for my point.
Technically, I was a 10th grader in high school when the Caps came to DC, I believe it was 1974.
It was something like 8 wins in their first season, but I, like many here, have followed them from the start.
And you’re absolutely right! There isn’t any comparison, no matter what era of hockey, through all my complaints, that can touch that experience we had of winning the Stanley Cup!!!
It’s really a no brainer!!
My wife must be right when she says of me, “I really do appreciate it honey, when you do FINALLY GET IT !” (Then the Chinese side of her comes out, and she follows with a proverb), “Sometimes, many seasons of falling leaves must pass, before the seedling sprouts!” LOL 😁
Frickin’ Chinese, and their proverbs!!🤣🤣 She gets that crap from her mother! When we first met, I thought they were kinda cool, until they started slamming me with a few of them, every time we paid her mother a visit!
Although I can give my wife a little hell when we get back home, I have to just stand there and take it, when it comes from the mother-in-law! In their culture, it would be a MAJOR bad, to argue back with a mother-in-law, even in the lightest form!
Although the story is true, the reality is, it doesn’t really bother me at all. In fact my wife cracks up when we talk about it, because she knows I wouldn’t normally hold my tongue in a situation like that, And she has had to practice that very thing, with all of her elder relatives, for her entire life!!😆😂
Am I sometimes a late bloomer on certain things?
Guilty as charged!👍
Thanks Rich!

Oh yeah, BTW, Rich.
I saw that you mentioned Hopslam in a recent post.
If memory serves me right, I think we live in the same area of town.
DC says Hopslam comes out in March, every year.
Wanted to let you know that the Wegmans, on route 29, near where it intersects with Route 15, starts carrying six packs of Hopslam, right in the beginning of March! Just FYI.
