One thing should be abundantly clear and that is that Boyd is better than Panik. He may not score much but neither does Panik, apparently. But Boyd always seems to make smart plays with the puck and is dogged along the boards. Panik is a waste of a roster spot. Plus, you don't tinker with success. The Caps need to figure out sooner rather than later that this was a mistake signing.
On another topic, I'm having grave doubts about Samsonov. He looks unsteady out there and was absolutely awful in the shootout. You can't play inside the net and expect to stop anything. You have to get well out of the paint or you've had it.
