Great win. Keeps us at the top of the NHL standings.
Isles just ended their winning streak when the Penguins came back from a 3-0 deficit to win 4-3 in OT. Gives us a little breathing room. Even if the Isles win their 2 games in hand they can only tie us at this point. Bruins a point up on Isles. Tight Metro division at the top. Nothing new.
4 Caps:
Nice to see the Caps Stay in the Fight. The first period IMO was the worst period the Caps have played this season. They were lucky to be down by only 1. By my count the Caps gave up 9 quality scoring chances in the first period at even strength and two more when they were on the PP. In the second and third period they played much better. Kuzy with a big night, three assists, and Ovi and Wilson with two goals each.
I was impressed with the way Florida played, if they keep playing like that they should make the playoffs.

In the first period I thought the Cats were bringing the same skills, strategy, and fight we've seen from the Caps all year. This is why the Caps struggled IMO. I thought Caps regrouped and adjusted quite well to a good team that played their hearts out.

Well...hell, a win is a win. I thought the Caps were done when it was 3-1, but they did bounce back with EFFORT and hustle in the 2nd and third.
Holtby had a pretty good night despite the 4 goals.
I mostly slept through the third, so I can't really say all that much, but DAMN! Way to go Willie and Ovie and Kuzy.
So what does this teams ability to stay in the fight and hustle say about Reirdon? We all sure do jump on him and how ineffectual he is when the team takes two periods off, but what about when the team actually shows some hustle and fight?
Glad for the win...is that five in a row? GO CAPS
