I really thought after the last few games, that it was fucking crystal clear that Samsonov should be getting more starts. I was pretty surprised that we went with Holts again this game instead of Samsonov. It's just incredibly obvious that:
1) Holtby is no longer the Vezina caliber goalie he used to be
2) Holtby is no longer the Stanley Cup caliber goalie he used to be
3) Holtby is not the goalie of our future
4) Holtby is not worth anything NEAR $10 million a year
5) Holtby is nothing without Korn
I mean Holts is getting paid well north of $5 million a year to let in 3 goals in 3 shots. I COULD FUCKING DO THAT. Pay me that much annually and I fucking assure you I can just as easily let in 3 goals on 3 shots.
For those who think this is an overreaction based on a couple games, no. Holtby has been on the decline since our Stanley Cup season. He had not won the Cup he would be judged MUCH differently, just based on consistently declining play.
If Sammy has a decent game, TR better fucking start him next game. If he doesn't it will just be more proof positive that TR is a fucking retard.

a couple things, we don’t have to worry about Holts contract breaking the bank like Dylan’s did. And maybe the Caps can trade him to the islanders where Korn is to save them even more cap space.
as far as Reirdon goes, even Einstein would’ve been called an idiot if he said err ummm every damn sentence

I really wanted Samsonov to start this game, but I can totally understand giving some respect to Holtby and letting him play. I would have pulled after the 2nd goal on two shots, but since the defense was crap on that 2nd goal I can see waiting until 3rd goal. I do believe that Holtby has lost that privilege from here on out. I felt pretty strongly about Samsonov playing today against the Avs. I do have to add that the team in front of Holtby has SUCKED ASS today.

Would rather give him to a garbage Western team that won't be a huge threat. Giving him to a Metro division rival and putting him in with the one guy who can actually turn him around would be bad news for us.
But yeah I hope we drop him for value before we lose him for nothing.

I agree that Braden has lost the privilege from here on out. Going forward, Holtby's gotta earn his starts again like he's a new goalie on the team.
