I favor your take, Mick, on this! They should have wanted this game more strongly and overcome whatever REF calls, when they had the opportunity to win in OT!
NOT my intention at all, to knock the ref haters here, as either way you wanna look at it, whether the standard is the refs are permanently against us, or NOT, Our Capitals have been a winning organization, including a Stanley Cup in recent history, and they’ve seemed to always find a way to win, BIG, even if you believe the refs have always been against us.
Again, no problem with that opinion, although I don’t agree with it, but either way they didn’t find that way to win tonight!!
A BIG 0/6, on their PP tonite, would be another great reason for the loss! Just sayin!

I agree with all of that. I will add one more thing I find impressive. The Caps all seem to know where to be on the ice most of the time. The hockey IQ and awareness on the ice is up a notch from years past.
